Joe Gatto Announces Comedy Tour After Impractical Jokers Exit

Fans of Impractical Jokers were saddened to learn Joe Gatto would not be joining his three friends for the show’s next season on TruTV, but there will be other opportunities to get some laughs from the prankster and comedian. On Instagram, Gatto shared a new image revealing scheduled dates for a stand-up comedy tour in the United States. In the caption, he explains how he felt it was important for him to move forward with his planned tour rather than canceling it.

“When I committed to my upcoming series of shows starting in the Midwest this week, I obviously had no idea what life would look like at this moment,” Gatto explains. “Regardless, we can all use some laughter and kindness right now, and I’ll therefore be keeping all of my dates. Excited to share some laughs with the fans in Iowa this weekend and all over the country in the weeks and months to come.”

While he’s not very specific in this post, Gatto is alluding to the trouble he’s had at home which led to his departure from Impractical Jokers. It was recently reported that Gatto would be leaving the program upon splitting with his wife, as he wanted to focus on co-parenting and raising his children. While Gatto keeping true to his scheduled dates will keep him a little busy over the next few months, he’ll still be around so much more than he’d be if he had to simultaneously work on Impractical Jokers.

“Alongside my friends, I’ve devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn’t be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids,” Gatto said last week, revealing his exit from the series.

Joe Gatto Had Been Part of the Team from the Start

TruTV

Last year, the Impractical Jokers team signed a new first-look deal with WarnerMedia that would see them developing original unscripted content for TNT, TBS, TruTV, and HBO Max. This deal included longtime member Joe Gatto as well as his fellow founding members of the group, James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, and Sal Vulcano. The upcoming tenth season came as a part of this deal with TruTV hoping to keep the gang pranking each other for some time to come.

“From the very first dinner I had with Joe, James, Brian and Sal, I knew I loved spending time with them, and that our audiences would as well,” Brian Weitz, General Manager, TBS, TNT, and TruTV said in a statement. “And here we are, greenlighting a tenth season. We’re proud to be the home, where the guys can continue to flex their creative muscles, continue to evolve their comedy and build new IP that we can introduce into the larger WarnerMedia family.”
