Tyson Fury, the heavyweight boxing champion, wants to fight UFC champion Francis Ngannou, but that fight will have to wait until next year. Fury is coming off a historic victory against Deontay Wilder in 2021, which ended one of the greatest boxing rivalries of all time. Although he’s been in talks to face Dillian Whyte, the WBC’s obligatory order hasn’t led to anything. There is still no word on the status of Ngannou’s contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). At UFC 270, he beat Ciryl Gane amid tense discussions with the UFC’s top brass about his contract.
Fury hinted about a fight with Ngannou in a recent interview with iFL TV and said “I am going to fight Francis Ngannou in Las Vegas next year – in March or February. There’s been no talks this year, because I have got some boxing to do,” Fury said. “But next year we can have some crazy fights. It’s a massive fight – I believe it breaks all pay-per-view records in the United States. Two heavyweight champions going head-to-head.”
When the fight does ahead, you must ensure that you’re signed up on a gaming platform that allows you to wager on the fight, if you haven’t found an online platform, you can learn more about Bet365 in Australia and sign up there, you will receive fantastic odds, promotions, offers and much more. Whilst you wait for this fight to be official, you can wager on other UFC fights.
Ngannou has intimated that he may transition to boxing as soon as he finishes his current contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Ngannou suffered an knee injury and therefore will have to have surgery and will be out for a long period of time, maybe until the end of this year or the beginning of the next year.
Over the last several months, there has been an online back-and-forth between Fury and Ngannou. When asked how a crossover bout with Ngannou would play out, Fury went so far as to predict an early knockout for either combatant. When asked about a battle with Tyson Fury in 2022, Ngannou previously said that he doubted it would happen in 2022. It might happen sooner rather than later if his UFC talks go well. It all depends on the two fighters and their agents, if anything, I’m expecting this fight to be in 2023 for certain, you can rule 2022 right off because it’s not happening as confirmed by Ngannou.
