Tallest NBA Players: Top 7

Many basketball players are tall thin athletes. More than being aesthetically pleasing, their height gives them an advantage on the court. Their size is helpful when they try to defend the ball, dribble to the basket, and score.

Because they are tall, they are closer to the basket, and it is easier for them to make more slam dunks and score points for their teams. Shorter players are also instrumental on the court. They play as guards and are usually good dribblers.

Basketball is a fun and exciting game to watch with friends and family. Apart from the thrills of watching, you can also heighten the experience by betting on your favorite teams.

Muresan started his career at the early age of fourteen and played from 1993 to 2000. He showed promise in his seven years of professional play, but his career was cut short by injuries, and he officially retired in 2003.

  • Manute Bol

Manute died in 2010 due to kidney failure. He was 47 years old.

  • Shawn Bradley

He held Utah’s record for most blocked shots up to 2015. He started playing in the NBA in 1993 with the Philadelphia 79ers. After playing for twelve years, he retired in 2005.

Unfortunately, he was involved in a ghastly motorcycle accident in 2021 that affected his spinal cord and has left him paralyzed from the waist down.

  • Yao Ming
  • Ming is a retired Chinese basketball player. He played for the CBA and the NBA during his career. He is 7.6 feet tall, and during his last season, he ranked as the tallest active player in the NBA.

He retired in 2011, stating that several foot and ankle injuries had made him miss many games, and it was time to stop playing.

  • Slavko Vranes
  • Vranes is a 7.5 feet tall retired basketball player from Montenegro. He started his career playing for the Efes Pilsen Turkish team for one year. After which, he returned to his home country to play for the Montenegrin national team.

He started his NBA career in 2003 and played for several teams until his retirement in 2018.

  • Chuck is a former American basketball player from Colorado. He is known for his intimidating 7.5 feet height and is one of the tallest players the NBA has seen. He started playing basketball in high school and was popular in college football before moving to the NBA.

He played the center position throughout his career and has played with some of the most notable basketball players. He started his career in 1983, and he played for nine years with different teams until his retirement in 1993.

  • Pavel Podkolzin
  • Podkolzin is another 7.5 feet tall NBA player. He was born on January 15th, 1985, a Russian national. He started playing basketball at a young age, joining the Russian junior national team and winning the silver medal with them in the 2000 European cadets championship.

He was listed in the NBA in 2004 and played with the Dallas Mavericks for a while. He had a successful nineteen-year career that ended in 2019 when he officially retired.

    Conclusion

The NBA has recorded only fourteen players who are 7 feet and above and only two who are up to 7.7 feet tall.

Many people would probably want to know who is the tallest player in the NBA today? He is Tacko Fall, a Senegalese player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and is doing amazing things this NBA season. He has featured in several NBA memes and NBA shorts.

Players of every height and size are an asset to their team. They are chosen because of their skills and abilities, not their physical statistics alone. We are anticipating new players to beat the records of the seven giants mentioned above in the future. Until then, they hold the enviable record.
