Deadpool 3 Stars Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman Answer Burning Questions Regarding Wolverine’s Return

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has finally gotten what he (and many Marvel fans) always wanted, adding Hugh Jackman as Wolverine to Deadpool 3. After making the surprise announcement yesterday, the teases continue in Reynolds’ latest tweet, with the actor now joined by Jackman himself as the pair offer some answers to the various questions now hanging in the air.

Cutting a cozy image as they sit together on a sofa, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman offer a warm welcome to fans before providing some explanation as to how Wolverine will return in the Deadpool threequel. “You have questions,” Reynolds begins.

“Yes. I had a lot of questions,” Jackman adds. “But rest assured, were going to answer them right now.” One of the most burning questions is how Wolverine will return after dying at the end of 2017’s Logan, and Reynolds and Jackman are here to provide some answers.

“Like for example, how is Wolverine alive after Logan?” the actor continues. Reynolds then chimes in, saying, “Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that.” This is sure to come as a relief to fans of the character who felt that not only is Logan one of the greatest examples in the comic book movie genre, but also that it acts as the perfect send-off to Jackman’s tenure as the X-Men member.

“What actually happens in our film is these two fucking guys…” Reynolds continues before Wham’s jaunty 1984 hit Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go kicks in, playing over both Reynolds and Jackman acting out what we might see in Deadpool 3 and no doubt offering a hint of the sort of antics that are to come — which of course includes the two characters stabbing each other in the most brutal ways possible.

“Thank you, Kevin Feige,” concludes Reynolds, with Jackman adding, “Love you, Kevin Feige. Thank you, MCU.”

Ryan Reynolds May Have Already Revealed the Deadpool 3 Storyline

20th Century Fox

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine joining the Deadpool franchise is something that Ryan Reynolds has been trying to make happen for some time. And the actor may have already teased certain details of what this partnership will involve. Following the Disney/Fox merger, Reynolds took to social media to reveal that Deadpool 3 would center on Wade Wilson and Logan taking a road trip.

“It’s critical to have open, honest and healthy discussions around mental health. By retweeting #BellLetsTalk you can make a difference. In case that’s not enough, before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real,” Reynolds revealed back last year.

While we do not yet know whether this will be the plot, it certainly sounds like the perfect adventure for Deadpool and Wolverine, and would allow fans to spend plenty of time with Jackman’s iteration of the character for what will presumably be the very last time.

Directed by Shawn Levy, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool 3 is now scheduled to be released on September 6, 2024.
