The Oscar-winning actor will star as himself on the award-winning comedic series.

The latest season of HBO’s hit comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm got a little more star-studded. According to Variety, Oscar winner Troy Kotsur is set to appear in a guest-starring role in Season 12 of the show. Kotsur, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Coda, will be playing himself in an episode of the show as a member of Larry David’s golf club.

The actor, who is deaf, has also made a name for himself in the world of television and film, with appearances on shows like Criminal Minds and Scrubs as well as films like The Number 23. He also helped create the sign language used by the Tusken Raiders in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was created by and stars Larry David as a semi-fictionalized version of himself, is known for its unique filming style, with no script and cast members improvising their lines. The show also stars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Vince Vaughn, and Ted Danson.

Larry David began his career as a stand-up comedian before eventually moving into television writing, first on the ABC series Fridays and later on the NBC series Seinfeld. He has won numerous awards for his work on both shows, including multiple Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Has Been On the Air for Over 20 Years

This isn’t the first time the show has brought on guest stars, with past seasons featuring appearances from the likes of Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents), Martin Short (Only Murders in The Building), and Michael J. Fox (Back to The Future).

The show first premiered in 2000 and ran for eight seasons before taking a six-year hiatus and returning for Seasons 9, 10, and 11 . The show was renewed for a 12th season in August 2022 and is expected to air later this year.

Curb Your Enthusiasm has been widely praised by critics and audiences, receiving numerous award nominations and wins over the years. The show has been nominated for 39 Primetime Emmy Awards and has won three, while David himself has been nominated for and won multiple awards for his role on the show.

This latest addition to the cast will bring even more laughs and unexpected moments to the already highly-entertaining show.
