You hasn’t yet been renewed for a fifth season, but its showrunner is already thinking about it and who might put Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg in trouble in the future. The successful Netflix series has just released the second part of its fourth season, once again positioning itself among the most watched productions on the streaming platform.
Once again, in the finale of the most recent installment, Joe managed to get away with his long list of murders, conquering his new love and climbing to power. This new situation puts him in an ideal situation and a complicated one for those who want to see him pay for all his crimes. However, it is possible that in the fifth part, someone can finally stop him.

Speaking with TVLine, showrunner Sera Gamble revealed Joe’s potential future enemies:
“We have kept scrupulous track of everybody who knows anything about Joe who’s not dead. The ones who are dead could still appear in dreams and hallucinations. There are some very smart people who are alive. Some of them are in jail, and some of them are basically in witness protection, but there’s no reason to believe he’s safe.”
In the last episode of season 4, it was revealed that Marianne (Tati Gabrielle) and Nadia (Amy-Leigh Hickman) were safe, even when Joe threatened the latter in order to keep her from telling the truth about him. These two might be good choices for the writers in season 5 to make Joe pay.

You Surpassed The Last of Us
There’s no doubt that You is part of the short list of Netflix shows that still make the platform stand out. Along with series like Stranger Things, Squid Game, Bridgerton, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Wednesday, the Penn Badgley starring show has become a hit within the audience, and has even managed to beat some tv shows from the competition.
Surprisingly, You surpassed The Last of Us. According to Nielsen’s charts, the Netflix series became the most watched production in streaming from February 6 to February 12th, reaching 1.733 billion minutes watched, leaving far behind the 1.109 billion that the HBO series achieved.
Right now, You season 4 part 2 is at the number one spot of Netflix top 10 in several countries, so the renewal for a fifth installment might not be far away. This means Joe Goldberg still has a long way to go.
