A long-awaited update has arrived on the fourth season of Dark Side of the Ring. The Vice TV docuseries highlights some of the most tragic tales to be told from the pro wrestling business from the other side of the curtain. Per Variety, it’s now been revealed that season 4 is set to debut on the network on May 30 at 10 p.m. ET.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our viewers for giving this show the life that it has had for the past 4 years,” executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener said in a statement addressing the news. “As lifelong fans of professional wrestling, our subjects continue to inspire us. There are so many fascinating and compelling stories left to tell and it’s a privilege to share more of them in our fourth season

Morgan Hertzan, the president of Global TV for Vice Media Group, added: “As the WWE sale works towards a close, Vice TV remains the leading chronicler of wrestling in America. I’m cheering from the ropes to announce the return of ‘Dark Side of the Ring,’ as proven this show and its spinoffs have been incredibly successful for the network and insightful to produce, now someone tag me in!”

Dark Side of the Ring Returns in May
Narrated by Chris Jericho, season 4 will consist of ten episodes, and some of the subjects have also been revealed. That includes the tumultuous relationship between Tammy “Sunny” Sytch and Chris Candido; Magnum T.A.’s devastating car accident that prematurely ended his wrestling career; the story of “wrestling’s most unhinged monster,” Abdullah the Butcher; and the troubled life of Marty Jannetty, who rose to fame as one half of The Rockers alongside Shawn Michaels. It was previously reported that Mike Awesome and Bam Bam Bigelow would also be included.
Some of the show’s past topics include Brian Pillman, Owen Hart, Luna Vachon, Chris Kanyon, the steroid trials of the 1990s, Chris Benoit’s murder/suicide, and the infamous “Plane Ride from Hell.” While there were rumors of a cancelation at one point, Dark Side of the Ring still stands strong as one of Vice TV’s most successful venture. The series is the most watched series of all time for the network and has even inspired multiple spinoffs focusing on comedy, football, and the 1990s. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would also tag with Vice TV to executive produce the similar docuseries Tales from the Territories.
Dark Side of the Ring season 4 premieres on Vice TV on May 30 at 10 p.m. ET.
