heads towards its emotional end, Finn Wolfhard reflects on his character’s evolution and the series that launched his career.

Finn Wolfhard, known for his portrayal of Mike Wheeler in the acclaimed Netflix series Stranger Things, recently shared his perspectives on the fourth season and his enthusiasm for the upcoming fifth and final season. As Wolfhard juggles multiple projects, including the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife and an origin film about Saturday Night Live, he remains grateful for the series that launched his career.

In an interview with THR, Wolfhard discussed the evolution of his character in the concluding season. Season 4 saw the main characters on separate paths, each following their individual storylines. Wolfhard admitted that this separation was a challenge for him. However, he reassured fans that Season 5 would be “the opposite,” with the cast reunited. Wolfhard stated:

“This last season is sort of a crossroads, and so we’re getting back into a lot of the dynamics of season one, which is really fun. There’s some ‘leader Mike’ moments, and it’s a very grand season, obviously. Every season has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger, and this season is huge, but it’s also kind of isolated as well.”

“We really didn’t shoot very much for the first few months of production, because they were so focused on all the Hawkins stuff. So I was really jealous. Even when I finally watched the show, my favorite part was watching the other guys in Hawkins. I just liked that storyline so much. So, yeah, not being around everyone all the time was definitely a bummer about filming 4, but 5 is the opposite. We’re all together all the time.”

The initial season of Stranger Things, which came out in the summer of 2016, held audiences spellbound with its gripping narrative, nostalgic look, and outstanding performances by its youthful cast. Alongside Wolfhard, the series stars Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Materazzo, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton. The ensemble has grown over the seasons, adding talents like Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Joseph Quinn, Maya Hawke, and Dacre Montgomery.

The series also boasts strong performances from its adult cast, including Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers and David Harbour as the beloved Jim Hopper. The second season saw Sean Astin, known for The Lord of the Rings, in a memorable role.

Approaching the End: Stranger Things Season 5 Promises an Epic Conclusion

As Stranger Things approaches its conclusion, with about nine months of shooting remaining for Season 5, fans can revisit the first four seasons on Netflix. Wolfhard’s thoughts on the previous season and his anticipation for the last chapter hint at an epic conclusion to the beloved series.

Excitement for Season 5 is high, as fans are keen to witness the merging of storylines and the culmination of the characters’ arcs. The return to the dynamics of Season 1, as mentioned by Wolfhard, suggests a full-circle moment for the series, potentially bringing back the sense of camaraderie and adventure that initially captivated viewers.
