The Last of Us star Nico Parker recently shared her experiences working with Pedro Pascal during the filming of the hit HBO series. Pascal and Parker portrayed the role of Joel Miller and his daughter, Sarah, respectively. Their interaction off-camera was just as compelling as their on-screen relationship.
Parker, who was nominated for a Supporting Actress award at the BAFTA TV Awards for her role, spoke highly of her co-star at the event. During an interview with Deadline, Parker expressed her gratitude for the nomination and the opportunity to work alongside such talented actors. “I feel amazing,” the actor said. “I’m in such a brilliant cast with such incredible actors, so I’m just, like… it feels surreal for my name to be anywhere within the midst of them, so I’m just very, very grateful. Very thankful.”
When asked about her memorable experience working with Pascal, Parker elaborated on the joy of working with someone who balances professionalism with a sense of humor. She said:
He’s so funny. He really does make every day an experience in its own special way. He really is one of my best friends. He’s so brilliant, and so talented, but also, off-screen, he’s just the loveliest guy.
When prodded about Pascal being a prankster, Parker playfully revealed his penchant for keeping things light. “He just pokes at you all day until you’re like, ‘Pedro!’ And then he just finds it so funny when you get angry,” she said, laughing at the memories.

The Last of Us new set images (via X) have begun to surface, giving fans a look into what the upcoming Season 2 holds. The production is currently in full swing in Vancouver, Canada. The recently released photographs from the set reveal the meticulous recreation of an iconic location from the video game—the dilapidated Weston’s Pharmacy. This spot holds a significant weight in the storyline. It is here that Ellie Williams famously scavenged for medication to save Joel Miller, her companion and protector, making it a critical point in their story.
Fans of the franchise will recognize Weston’s Pharmacy not only from the main game but also from its appearance in the DLC The Last of Us: Left Behind and as a side quest in The Last of Us: Part II.
Sony and the game’s developer, Naughty Dog, launched a fictitious social media account for Weston’s Pharmacy. Initially, the account features standard promotional content, but it gradually shifts into a narrative of chaos as the world succumbs to the catastrophic virus central to the game’s plot. This creative mix of storytelling and marketing hints at the immersive experiences awaiting in the next season.
The Last of Us series faced some production challenges, mainly due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike. Despite the hurdles, showrunner Craig Mazin assures that the direction for Season 2 had been established pre-strike, promising a storyline aligned with The Last of Us: Part II.
