Antonio Banderas Action Thriller ‘Acts of Vengeance’ Is Now Streaming Free

Former Zorro Antonio Banderas

trades swords and swashbuckling for grit and guns in one of his most underrated action thrillers, which is now streaming free. Released back in 2017, Acts of Vengeance

evokes the best kind of action B-movie in this tale of a lawyer who never shuts up, vowing silence and revenge after his family is murdered.

Directed by Isaac Florentine, who has demonstrated his affinity for the genre before with frequent collaborations with action icon Scott Adkins in the likes of Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, and Close Range, Acts of Vengeance stars The Boys’ Karl Urban alongside Banderas. The action outing, which proved divisive at the time, is well worth a second shot, and is available to stream free now on Tubi

. You can check out the official synopsis for the revenge flick below.

“A fast-talking lawyer transforms his body and takes a vow of silence, not to be broken until he finds out who killed his wife and daughter and has his revenge.”

Antonio Banderas Is No Stranger to the World of Action Movies

Buena Vista Pictures

Antonio Banderas is no stranger to the world of action movies. After roles in the likes of Philadelphia and Interview with the Vampire, Banderas demonstrated his particular set of skills in writer and director Robert Rodriguez’s neo-Western action movie, Desperado, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The actor would return as the guitar-playing gun-slinger known as “El Mariachi” in 2003’s Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

The actor has also featured in several lesser-known action outings, teaming up with Rambo star Sylvester Stallone in Assassins, fighting side by side with Lucy Liu in Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, and joining forces with Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley in Security. He has faced a robot-ravaged post-apocalypse in the sci-fi action movie Autómata, turned against the criminal organization he works for in The Enforcer, battled alongside Vikings in The 13th Warrior, been part of The Expendables alongside Jason Statham in The Expendables 3, and featured alongside Gina Carano, Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, and Channing Tatum in Steven Soderbergh’s action thriller Haywire. And that’s all without mentioning his role as retired secret agent Gregorio Cortez in the Spy Kids franchise.

Antonio Banderas had a busy 2024, starring in both the critically acclaimed erotic thriller Babygirl alongside Nicole Kidman, and the well-received family adventure sequel, Paddington in Peru, as well as the maligned crime thriller The Clean Up Crew and the equally maligned mystery thriller Cult Killer. Banderas is next due to star in a serial adaptation of The Monster of Florence, which explores a series of murders between 1968 and 1985 around the city of Florence.
