From Dreaming in Suburbia to Shaping Global Conversations: Kimya Ebrahimi’s Inspiring Journey

5

Young Kimya Ebrahimi grew up in a suburban neighborhood outside Vancouver. She sat in her bedroom at the age of 10, watching YouTube stars (Bethany Mota and juicystar07), and she dreamed of sharing her voice and vision with the world one day. She admired these influencers, but never imagined that she would become an influential voice in her own right who inspires thousands to embrace authenticity, self-expression, and sustainability.

Kimya’s childhood was very regular and modest, but her dreams were always large. She grew up as a shy kid. In her later years, she was always extremely confused about her career, from medicine to makeup artistry. All she knew was that when she found her passion, she would work hard to be the best at it. She ended up choosing marketing because this is a field she naturally excels in. After college, by the age of 24, she had secured a role at a marketing startup, when she was assigned the task of building her boss’s YouTube channel. She realized that if she could grow someone else’s platform, she could build her own as well.

Leaving behind a stable job was not easy. But Kimya’s family did not leave her alone and provided the safety net she needed to take a chance.

She began her content creation journey, which was full of challenges but she encountered them with consistency. Despite the initial excitement, her early efforts met with little engagement. Her first year was defined by persistent silence online, where posts attracted minimal views and feedback. Kimya was consistent with content development and her vision.

Kimya said, “There were many moments where you can experience self-doubt, but you have to remember lasting success takes time. You are waiting for the moment when all your hard work, preparation, and practice meet the perfect opportunity. You have to have love in the art of creation, not just the validation.”

Eventually, the tides turned when Kimya shares her authentic self through thrifted fashion hauls, relatable GRWM (Get Ready With Me) sessions, and honest conversations about beauty that resonate with her audience. Her online presence was elevated on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. She gained over 450K followers on TikTok, and the combined audience on TikTok surpassed 1M with her sister, Kiyana.

Kimya positioned herself as a Thought Leader with her genuine style, which was a combination of affordable fashion tips with empowering messages about self-worth. Her Instagram with 185K followers became another space for her unique blend of approachable and elevated content.

Kimya was successful within this industry methodically because of built on authenticity and consistency. She emphasized genuine connections and engaged directly with her followers. This community-driven approach turned her platforms into spaces where followers actively participated in meaningful dialogues about self-expression, fashion sustainability, and beauty standards.

Through her “No Makeup Movement,” she started impactful conversations with the audience and encouraged followers to share unfiltered images. Kimya executed a global discussion around beauty standards that influenced hundreds of individuals to join her in showing their natural beauty for a week-long makeup-free movement.

Kimya’s beauty values and consistency attract the industry-leading brands, as YSL Beauty invited her on a promotional trip in March 2025. This collaboration was an influencer partnership for the acknowledgement of authenticity as a key tool within beauty marketing. She got collectively 400M+ views annually across all her platforms that boosted her influence within the digital landscape.

Kimya’s path has not been without its challenges, but each obstacle provided valuable insights. One of the most important lessons she shared is to prioritize internal validation over external success metrics. Kimya said, “Confidence is not about follower counts or views. True confidence comes from within, when you are proud of the impact you make on the people. Confidence is almost spiritual, it is all about how much love you have for yourself and the world around you. It is trust in yourself.

Her experiences are an example of resilience and patience. She advises that consistency is necessary in content creation and personal growth. Kimya strengthened this message through ongoing self-improvement that empowers her followers to pursue their passions without any fear.

Kimya’s dreams have changed into reality at her age of 27. Her vision includes expanding her presence to one million subscribers and followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. She wants to use this expanded reach to further spreading positivity, authenticity, and community-building.

Kimya dreams of launching her own brand or product line is aligned with her core values of creativity, confidence, and authenticity. Future collaborations with brands are also on the horizon to share her commitment to empowering individuals through authentic messaging.

Her goal is to build a successful business and foster an influential community to offer real-life connections and support. Kimya envisions a future where authenticity is celebrated worldwide to transform societal perceptions around self-image and beauty standards.

Kimya’s journey, from dreaming quietly in her bedroom to becoming a global voice, illustrates the value of belief, resilience, and authenticity. Her story inspires various individuals by proving that big dreams are achievable through persistence and genuine passion.

Her impact extends beyond mere follower counts; Kimya is redefining societal norms and inspiring a generation to see beauty and fashion as accessible, inclusive, and personal expressions.

Kimya Ebrahimi’s remarkable trajectory from suburban dreams to global influence is a testament to the transformative power of authenticity, dedication, and belief in oneself.
