Christina Aguilera Loves Her Curves And Hated Being Super Skinny

Christina Aguilera loves her curves and hated being super skinny, according to a new interview with the 40-year-old Grammy winner with Health magazine. Many people remember Christina from her time on Star Search and she has grown up in the public spotlight, beginning her career at the tender age of seven years old. Now a mother of two, Christina is sharing the wisdom she learned over the years with her own children: Max, 13, and Summer, 6. As many women can relate, body image is one of the most crucial issues in a young girl’s life, and though boys may also be affected by unrealistic standards often displayed on social media, it is a conversation more women have with their daughters than with their sons. Christina is preparing to pass down her lessons from learning to accept and love her curves to her daughter.

Christina spent her early years in the public eye and addressed the difficulties she endured while being a child star as well as being compared to her peers. She appeared on The All New Mickey Mouse Club with Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, and Keri Russell. Whether Christina felt she was being compared to Britney Spears specifically, she didn’t say, but she did speak about her body and how she became happy when she filled out. Christina told the magazine the following.

Entering this business, I hated being super skinny. Once I turned 21, I started filling out a little bit, and I was loving my new curves. I appreciate having a booty!

Christina continued to speak about the importance of self-love and self-acceptance and has gone on record to say she enjoys being 40. You may see some of the photos of Christina Aguilera that Health magazine featured in their story below.
