Instagram got some action when Congressman Hakeem Jeffries posted, “We have them on the run.” Straight and to the point, it set off a firestorm in the comment section. Some loved him, some mocked him, and many commented on what “on the run” actually means in today’s politics.

Back to supportive comments. For example, @toneyl9 declared, “Dems 4 Jeffries!!” followed by some muscular and prayeing-hand emojis. Short and very much to the point! Then, @claireslade3 took out another shot at some Georgia rep: “MJT learned she is only popular in her small corner of GA.” And that brought on replies ranging from laughing emojis to “Dismantle their psyche”—which, ok, that seriously escalated pretty fast.
But there were some good comebacks. For example, @katologic shot back, “On the run where? To the bank only so far.” Ouch. Then @debdc2620 cackled, “Who’s we? You and Dems haven’t done much.” Enter a whole deluge of comments arguing which party is really doing (or not doing) what? They even called one a “fake coward account” so things got tense for real there.
Then came the …unexpected divergences. A slew of comments suddenly started praising @SHANTEL_MENTORSHIP with remarks laced with, “Blessed is the day I came across your page” and “You have shown what leadership is really about.” Totally different vibe from the same thread. It was like crashing a self-help seminar during a political roast. Strange but somewhat heartwarming?
Drama, for sure, ensued with @bigtimelooker saying the whole “fake hoax” and “Trump’s approval ratings are higher than ever” line. The rebuttal said, “ehh it’s not fake if it’s happening.” @k_001_me went on a rampage of insults against Jeffries that called him “paid by AIPAC” and declared him a liar for prioritizing foreign interests over Americans. Yikes.
Sprinkled in are some bona fide classics. @jomidesign_ wants these political enemies sent straight “to the Colosseum—the lions are hungry.” @cirquelde just added, “run them completely OUT OF OFFICE.” While @howiejaplon had it figured out: “Round up firebrand Democrats to do town halls in Trump districts.”

In conclusion, Jeffries’ post created a swirl of emotions, drama, and a couple of unsolicited life-coach shout-outs. No matter if you think “they” are really running or just jogging in place—one thing’s for sure: now they’re being noticed, and that’s half the battle in this political climate. Or maybe all of it. Who the heck really knows anymore?
