There’s no question that Idris Elba is an icon. The handsome British actor is widely beloved for his starring role as the titular detective in “Luther,” and he’s taken the gig back on for the film “Luther: The Fallen Sun,” which premiered on Netflix on March 10.
Elba is also known for his starring role in “The Wire,” which ran from 2002 to 2004. He’s also appeared in “The Office,” “Thor,” “Suicide Squad,” and many other blockbusters and popular shows. Additionally, he played Nelson Mandela in “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” which netted him two Golden Globe nominations in 2014, and also won a Golden Globe for best actor in a limited series in 2012 for his performance in “Luther” — and that’s just to name a few of his accomplishments.
