Aquaman and Thor Get Beef, as Chris Hemsworth and Jason Momoa Trade Muscle Jibes on TikTok

Summary

  • Jason Momoa pokes fun at Chris Hemsworth’s intense workouts for Thor, highlighting the benefits of his own padded suit as Aquaman.
  • Hemsworth playfully responds, showcasing his “skin suit” and expressing his love for Aquaman.
  • While Momoa’s time as Aquaman may be ending, Hemsworth is expected to return as Thor in future Marvel films, though his departure from the franchise seems imminent.

Jason Momoa and Chris Hemsworth are both well-known for playing all-powerful superheroes in the DCEU and MCU, respectively. However, it seems that the pair have started an online beef over the fact that Hemsworth has to undergo some intense workouts in order to perfect his Thor physique, while Momoa points out the benefits of having a padded suit as Aquaman.

Jason Momoa returns to theaters later this month in what appears to be his final outing as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, in the DCEU’s closing chapter, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Ahead of this, Momoa took to his TikTok account to send a personal message to Chris Hemsworth, expressing his clear joy that, unlike the Marvel star, he doesn’t have to worry about any tiring training regimes to slip into his aquatic hero’s persona. In his video, Momoa laughed:

What’s up, Hemsworth? Check that s**t out! You had to work out, I didn’t.

It did not take long for Hemsworth to respond with his own video, taking a humorous swipe at Momoa’s lack of commitment by filming himself in a short-sleeved top showing off his “skin suit.” While doing reps, Hemsworth retorted with:

That’s a lovely padded costume you got there, Jason. I prefer a skin suit myself mate. I love you, Aquaman.

While Jason Momoa’s time as Aquaman is almost certainly coming to an end, it is likely that Hemsworth will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thor before the end of Phase 6.

What Does the Future Hold for Momoa and Hemsworth’s Superheroes?

While Jason Momoa appears to be coming to the end of his run as DC’s underwater hero, that does not mean that his time in the DCU is over. Rumors have continued to revolve around the actor being offered another role in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s upcoming reboot of the franchise. If these rumors are true, and Momoa has already hinted previously that they could be, then we will likely see the actor taking on the role of Lobo somewhere down the line. Before that, though, there is the matter of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to contend with. As the theatrical release draws closer, the signs of another DC misfire are becoming increasingly obvious, but only time will tell whether the holiday season will bring some good cheer to the departing franchise.

Chris Hemsworth, on the other hand, is now over a year down the line since Thor: Love & Thunder failed to capture the glory of its predecessor, Thor: Ragnarok, and ended up tarnishing the reputation of the character among many fans. However, it seems that Thor 5 is now in development, and it is expected that Hemsworth’s God of Thunder will also be part of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars in the coming years. However, it is very likely that the end of the Multiverse Saga will also signal the final outing for Hemsworth’s character, with the actor having already hinted that he is almost ready to leave Thor behind.
