Clint Eastwood’s Partner Christina Sandera has Died Aged 61

Clint Eastwood has revealed the sad news that his long term partner, Christina Sandera, has died at the age of 61. In a very brief statement, the Oscar-winning director announced the passing of Sandera, but offered no further details on the matter. A spokesman followed up on Eastwood’s sad words by saying that no more details on the subject would be discussed. In his statement, Eastwood wrote:

Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.

The couple had been together for a decade, with Sandera and Eastwood becoming romantically linked in 2014 after the Western icon’s three decade marriage to first wife Maggie Johnson, which ended in 1984, and his second marriage to Dina Eastwood. The pair met in a restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea shortly after Eastwood’s second divorce.

The couple very rarely appeared in public together, and maintained a high level of privacy around their relationship. However, Sandera was regularly by Eastwood’s side for movie premieres and awards ceremonies that the actor-director attended.

Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood has had a dazzling career lasting nearly seven decades, and has appeared in over 50 films and many beloved classics.

There has been a growing buzz around the upcoming release, not least due to its label as the final movie of one of cinema’s unequaled legends. While Eastwood has starred in many of his own movies in some capacity, it has not been revealed whether he will be putting in an appearance in front of the camera this time around, but what is clear is that Juror No.2 will be the end of a cinematic era.

It was recently announced that one of Eastwood’s classic movies, A Fistful of Dollars, is being given a make-over with a new remake. While fans have been divided about the news – with many stating on social media that they have no interest in the movie unless Eastwood’s role is succeeded by his son, Scott – the reactions have once again reminded everyone about just how hard an act Eastwood is to follow in the industry.

The news of Sandera’s passing comes at a time when Eastwood is ready to finally mark the end of his long career. While he would undoubtedly have had his partner by his side when Juror No.2 premieres, she will certainly be with him in spirit. Everyone at MovieWeb offers their condolences to Eastwood, as well as Sandera’s other family and friends.
