A Quiet Place: Day One, serving as a prequel to the original film A Quiet Place, offers an interesting take on the apocalypse. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o as Sam, a terminally ill woman who travels to New York City, but everything changes when the invasion takes place. With alien creatures that are ultra-sensitive to sound lurking in every nook and cranny, Sam and her new companion, Eric (Joseph Quinn), must find their way to the safe haven that is being broadcast on the radio.

As opposed to what many people assumed, the film is not a snoozefest; instead, it is a beautiful picture about hope and finding oneself amidst such a terrifying setting. A Quiet Place: Day One will be available for streaming on Prime Video beginning Jan. 1.

‘Rampage’ (2018)

When a gene manipulation experiment by a greedy corporation goes awry, the spreading pathogens turn animals into hostile super creatures, including George, the only victim who appears to be in his half senses. To return George to normal and prevent the infected creatures from destroying Chicago, Davis must find an antidote before it is too late. Rampage, released in 2018 and directed by Brad Peyton, will be added to Prime Video on Jan. 26.
