Undeniably one of the most buzzed-about and entertaining shows on the small screen, HBO’s critically-acclaimed satirical black dramedy The White Lotus has kept audiences all across the world hooked with its juicy mysteries and enigmatic characters, and on February 16, 2025, the smash hit series returned for its sensational third season. Touting a stacked ensemble cast including Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan, and Jason Isaacs, the latest installment takes place at the fictional White Lotus in Ko Samui, Thailand at a luxurious beachside resort where murder and mayhem secretly lurks.
Let’s take a look at the many gorgeous locations featured in the third season of The White Lotus.
The Resort Featured in ‘The White Lotus’ Is Real & Ready to Visit
The gorgeous tropical oasis featured in the third season of The White Lotus is very much a real place that passionate fans can actually visit, and it is the Four Seasons Koh Samui, located off the coast of Thailand. While four different resorts were used to create the fictional White Lotus Thailand, the main shots were of the stunning Four Seasons and its luxurious property and enviable amenities. Following in the footsteps of its predecessors, the third season of the smash-hit satirical dramedy partnered with the famous chain of hotels, having previously filmed at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii and San Domenico Palace in Taormina, Sicily.
Outside of filming at the Four Seasons Koh Samui, the latest season was also shot at Rosewood Phuket, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, and Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, as creator/showrunner Mike White and producers wanted to combine all the hotels into one smooth and gorgeous setting. Despite how beautiful the Four Seasons was with its sprawling collection of villas and lush beaches, the property alone could not offer everything the series needed, so they ventured to other locations to find additional shots. Executive producer David Bernard told People:
“The Four Seasons in Koh Samui is an A-plus vacations destination, but it didn’t offer us certain things we needed for our show to work visually. So we augmented some of the show using the spa at the Anantara Phuket… At night, we couldn’t shoot the restaurant area. It was too dark. So all the dinner scenes take place at the Rosewood actually in Phuket.”
With private villas that each come with their own pool and beach access, the Koh Thai Kitchen & Bar, and the peaceful Secret Garden Spa, the Four Seasons Koh Samui provides their guests with breathtaking ocean views and a truly unforgettable experience, all for a premium price starting at $2,441 from February 16-17 (hot on the heels of The White Lotus’ sensational premiere). A spokesperson for Four Seasons Resorts Thailand said that the latest season of the hit series “has undeniably heightened interest” in the resort and has created “a new wave of luxury travellers inspired by the show” before adding:
“While our core clientele of affluent travellers, honeymooners, and wellness seekers remains the same, we have observed an uptick in bookings from guests eager to experience the cinematic opulence showcased in the series.”
