April Blair is preparing to saddle up for another chapter of her modern western Ransom Canyon, as the soapy drama (which is basically Netflix’s romantic answer to Yellowstone) has been renewed for Season 2, roughly two months after its 10-episode first season was released on the streaming service. It seems that Netflix was not ready to let the series ride off into the sunset just yet — and as luck would have it, there are plenty of “stories still untold,” according to showrunner, creator and executive producer Blair, who said in a statement:
“I couldn’t be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle for Ransom Canyon. Our dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we can’t wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride.”

Netflix dipped its toe into ‘Yellowstone’ territory with ‘Ransom Canyon’ but with added romantic tension (and we love it).
Ransom Canyon adapts Jodi Thomas’ books of the same name, mixing romance, drama, and mystery while charting the intersecting lives of three ranching family dynasties in the rugged expanse of Texas Hill Country. At the heart of the first season was a love story between Josh Duhamel‘s stoic rancher Staten Kirkland and Minka Kelly‘s community champion Quinn O’Grady, but just as the two had grown closer, distance threatened to tear them apart, as Quinn accepted a position at the New York Philharmonic to keep her dance hall open.
