Before making his DC debut in Superman this summer, Lex Luthor actor Nicholas Hoult had a fan-favorite superhero role in the Fox-era of the X-Men movie franchise. With Avengers: Doomsday bringing back the mutant crew, speculation has risen on his potential return, but it seems Marvel fans shouldn’t hold their breath.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Superman star Nicholas Hoult talked about the return of the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday. Hoult, who played Beast in X-Men: First Class and subsequent films, was asked about possibly reprising his fan-favorite mutant role. He responded with a simple “No,” but went on to explain how Kelsey Grammar’s version of the character is the one he grew up with and shared his excitement about Doomsday bringing back the original X-Men cast.
“Kelsey was a great Beast. He was the Beast I saw when I was a kid, along with the other actors that they’re bringing back, Patrick and Ian and James and all them.
“Those were the characters that I got to watch in X-Men movies. I’m excited to see what they do with it. It’ll be fun to see how they incorporate those characters into that world.”
More to come.
