Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn has revealed that Kingsman 3 is happening, with the director hoping to release the sequel as soon as possible. Appearing at New York Comic Con, Vaughn offered a promising update in Kingsman 3 (which will reportedly be titled Kingsman: The Blue Blood) and his hopes “to get on” with the project before the actors all grow too old. Check out what Vaughn had to say about the long-awaited Kingsman 3 below (via EW):
“We’ve got to get on with Kingsman 3 because I was joking that Colin [Firth] is going to end up being a portrait on the side while Taron is Arthur. So we are working on that at the moment.”
Beginning back in 2014, the first Kingsman: The Secret Service is based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons and introduces audiences to Taron Egerton as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin a rebellious young man who is recruited into a secret spy organization by Colin Firth’s dapper Harry Hart.
Kingsman: The Secret Service was met with critical acclaim thanks to its kinetic action, old-school spy flavor, and endearing performances. While the subsequent sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, did not fare anywhere near as well, audiences remain hopeful for a third movie to wrap up the trilogy.
While details of Kingsman 3 remain largely under wraps, Vaughn has previously revealed that it will center on the relationship between Eggsy and Harry.
“Eggsy and Harry [will be in it], obviously. But it’s the gang coming back together and it’s one of those moments that…when we wrote the screenplay, it was very much about, okay, I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry. So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever? So that’s what this movie is all about is will they or won’t they, let’s just say.”

Matthew Vaughn Will Next Return to the World of Spies With Argylle
Universal Pictures
Vaughn will continue to tell tales set within the world of espionage with the upcoming meta take on the spy genre, Argylle. Directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn and adapted by Jason Fuchs, Henry Cavill stars as the titular Argylle alongside Barbie star and music sensation Dua Lipa. You can check out the official synopsis for Argylle below:
“Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past. Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar® winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.”
Argylle has recruited an A-list cast alongside Cavill, including the likes of Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena (F9, Peacemaker), Samuel L. Jackson, and more.
Argylle is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 2, 2024, by Universal Pictures and will also land on the streaming release on Apple TV+.
