Former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins was involved in a raucous altercation while playing for Mets de Guaynabo in Puerto Rico’s BSN league.
Cousins was ejected from Guaynabo’s contest versus Vaqueros de Bayamon on Monday after the four-time All-Star got into a spat with fans sitting courtside.
While heading down the tunnel, Cousins flipped off several opposing fans, prompting them to hurl drinks at the 34-year-old. The former first-round pick had to be restrained by multiple staff members as he attempted to confront more patrons.
Vaqueros eventually won 101-91, dropping Mets’ record to 9-18 on the season. Cousins was averaging 19 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in nine games before Monday’s contest.
Cousins hasn’t played in the Association since the 2021-22 season, when he appeared in 48 games split between the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.
The Kentucky product has bounced around international basketball since leaving the NBA, including stints in Mongolia and Taiwan.
