Head coach Aaron Glenn wants to rebrand the image of the New York Jets. He believes his draft picks fit that image.
“Tough, physical, violent, aggressive, a resilient attitude,” Glenn said of the Jets’ new brand Saturday, the New York Post’s Brian Costello reported. “If we continue to get guys like that, you’ll start to see the brand show up on the grass.”
New York selected seven players in the 2025 NFL Draft, including offensive tackle Armand Membou and tight end Mason Taylor. The team also upgraded its defense with the additions of safety Malachi Moore and edge rusher Tyler Baron.
“You need good, quality depth on your team,” Glenn said. “I went through the injury bug last year. If anything happens to any of our starters, these guys will be able to come in and play for us.”
The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh five games into the 2024 campaign and dismissed general manager Joe Douglas after 11 games. Glenn was tapped to lead the team in January following four seasons as the Detroit Lions’ defensive coordinator.
Glenn has helped with a Jets’ overhaul that included cutting wide receiver Davante Adams and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They added passer Justin Fields on a two-year, $40-million deal to replace Rodgers.
“We’re very intentional about guys we want to be a part of this organization,” Glenn added. “I would say the same thing when it comes to coaches also. Everyone fits. We want to continue that trend because once you do that, the core of each person is the same. We might look different. We might act different. But the core of everyone here is the same.”
The Jets went 5-12 last season and haven’t reached more than seven wins since 2015.
