Adidas signed Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard to a lifetime contract extension, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The financial terms of the deal are unknown. However, the eight-time All-Star signed a 10-year contract with the apparel giant in 2014, with the pact worth a maximum value of approximately $100 million.
Lillard and Adidas first joined forces in 2012, shortly before the former Weber State standout made his NBA debut with the Portland Trail Blazers. The company released his first signature shoe, the D Lillard 1, partway through his third pro season in February 2015. The latest entry in his signature shoe line, the Dame 9, launched in August.
During Lillard’s first return to Portland in January following his September 2023 trade to Milwaukee, Adidas announced it was renaming the basketball court at its Portland headquarters after the former Trail Blazers franchise star. The honor marked the first time in the company’s history that it renamed one of its facilities after an athlete.
The Bucks guard will become just one of four NBA players with lifetime shoe deals, joining Under Armour’s Stephen Curry and Nike’s LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
