Ballerina’ Trailer Finds Ana de Armas Exacting Violent Revenge

Audiences will return to the world of John Wick in this year’s spin-off, Ballerina. And an explosive new trailer for the highly anticipated action thriller has now been unleashed. From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 6, 2025, and will introduce No Time to Die and Knives Out star Ana De Armas

as a new assassin who embarks on her own quest for revenge.

Directed by Len Wiseman, who is best known for action fare like the Underworld franchise, Total Recall, and Die Hard 4, and from a screenplay he co-wrote with Shay Hatten in collaboration with Emerald Fennell, Ballerina takes place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 and follows ballerina-assassin Eve (Ana de Armas) as she hunts the people who killed her family.

Fans Think This ‘John Wick’ Theory Could Give Him the Perfect Ending, but We’re Not So Sure

Could there possibly be an even better ending to ‘John Wick’ than the one Chapter 4 gave us?

Academy Award nominee Ana de Armas will lead the project, with John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves, all set to return alongside her. From the World of John Wick: Ballerina stars John Wick staples Ian McShane, and Anjelica Huston, who both reprise their prior roles, with the spin-off also marking the final on-screen appearance of the late, great Lance Reddick, who reprises the role of Charon. The rest of the cast includes the likes of Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects, Hereditary), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune), and Catalina Sandino Moreno (From, Maria Full of Grace). Alongside the trailer, you can check out the official synopsis below.

“Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.”

‘John Wick’ Spin-Offs and a Sequel Are Now in the Works

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is just the first of many John Wick spin-offs now in the works. One of the most exciting projects is the Caine movie, which will find Donnie Yen back in the role of the titular blind assassin. Introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4, the Caine spin-off “will continue Yen’s story arc following the events of Chapter 4, as Caine has been freed from his obligations to the High Table.” At present, not much else has been revealed about the action outing, but Yen has stated that he hopes to both direct and star.

“I think both the fans, as well as the studio, want this to happen, and we’ll see. I don’t know, Steve. I can only tell you that much. But yes, we are talking, and we are talking intimately. We’ll see what happens.”

The world of John Wick is now one of the most successful action franchises of all time. While it looked like John Wick: Chapter 4 wrapped things up for the character (with Reeves seemingly putting the idea of another sequel to bed), Jenefer Brown, EVP and Head of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, has now revealed that John Wick: Chapter 5 is now in development.

“This world continues to grow and expand in incredible ways. Up next, of course, we have Ballerina, which is our first spin-off movie and [we] can’t wait for that to release to the world. Of course, we’ve announced we’re working on a fifth John Wick film. I think there are more spinoffs to come, a TV series, video game.”
