New episodes of Dark Side of the Ring are reportedly in the works at Vice TV, and a handful of topics that will be covered have been revealed. PWInsider reports that filming has started on season 4 of the docuseries with different pro wrestling personalities getting interviewed. Among those said to be included for new interviews in season 4 are Mick Foley, Jim Cornette, Terry Funk, and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. The season has not been officially announced by Vice TV at this time, though the new report has also not been debunked.
According to the report, three of the subjects featured in season 4 are Bam Bam Bigelow, Mike Awesome, and Abdullah the Butcher. Bigelow, known for his flame-covered appearance from the tattoos on his scalp to the design of his tights, was one of the most well-known pro wrestlers of the 1980s and 90s. His unique look had also gotten him cast with roles in movies like Major Payne and Joe’s Apartment. After years of struggling with addiction, heart issues, and other problems, Bigelow died in 2007 due to an accidental overdose.

After retiring from pro wrestling, Awesome worked as a real estate agent, but even away from the business, he continued to struggle wtih his demons. The wrestling star died by suicide in 2007.
Meanwhile, Abdullah the Butcher is known for being one of the most violent professional wrestlers there has ever been. He has often competed in independent promotions in hardcore wrestling matches, incorporating forks, blades, and other weapons to practically maim some opponents. He spent several decades working as a pro wrestler, making his debut in the 1950s and retiring in 2019. Watching his matches is not for the faint of heart.

Vice
There had been rumors that Dark Side of the Ring was canceled after season 3, but that was never officially announced by Vice TV. A separate series focused on classic pro wrestling, Tales from the Territories, has since been airing on the network. But that show is separate from Dark Side of the Ring and hasn’t hindered progress from moving forward on the latter. The show is one of the highest-rated that’s on Vice TV and has even inspired multiple spinoffs: Dark Side of Football, Dark Side of the ’90s, and Dark Side of Comedy.
Dark Side of the Ring season 4 doesn’t yet have a premiere date.
