Eli Roth’s History of Horror Season 3 Trailer Arrives Ahead of October Premiere

Just in time for Halloween, Eli Roth’s History of Horror brings us a brand new teaser trailer for season 3. Halloween is the time of year where you go back to your scary movie favorites and watch until your head explodes. At least that is what I do every year. With streaming services and more channels like AMC embracing the horror movie season, how do you keep track of what to watch? Never fear because Eli Roth is here to help you on this frighting tour of cinematic gruesomeness.

Following the acclaimed second season, season 3 of Eli Roth’s History of Horror is set to premiere on AMC+ on September 25th. This is a series that dives deep into not only the horror genre but a variety of sub-genres. The series brings us a look at movies that we might have missed or forgotten about in each episode. They explore the behind scenes footage, the evolution of the genre, and more.

Keeping in line with the series deep-diving into horror classics, know that season 3 will explore holiday-related horror, mad scientists, and apocalyptic scenarios. Sounds like everything I need to check off my list this year. After you check out the trailer for the new season of Eli Roth’s History of Horror, you can also see what they have in store for you before it premieres on AMC+ on September 25th and on AMC on October 1st. If you really want to get deep into what the new season is going to be about, we have a breakdown for you below.

Sequels (That Don’t Suck)

Premieres Friday, October 1st at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and Saturday, September 25th on AMC+

This episode will look at the best horror sequels and the not so great sequels of horror movies. The ones we are half they made and the others that still have us scratching our heads as to why they did them in the first place. Sometimes you have that gem of a movie where a sequel is better than the original and those must be talked about.

“Infections”

Premieres Friday, October 8th at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+

Of course with everything that has gone on in the world, these types of movies really struck a nerve with most people in 2020 and 2021. Maybe even going into 2022. However as true horror movies fans, we can’t ignore the infections that appear on the big screen. It’s a real-life fear that we have all faced but it also makes for great movies.

“Psychics”

Premieres Friday, October 15th at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+

The mystical art of possessing psychic powers, good idea or bad? Who knows but again it plays a role in film. From comics to television, the power to read minds or manipulate objects without moving a muscle is a topic of hundreds of stories.

“Apocalyptic Horror”

Premieres Friday, October 22nd at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+

Nuclear War, Alien Invasion, Plagues, Zombies, all make for great movies in regards to the end of days. Watching the complete fall of human civilizations and the modern world is always great for film. It’s why we see these movies revisited time and time again.

“Holiday Horror”

Premieres Friday, October 29th at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+

It started with Black Christmas and made its way Silent Night Deadly Night or even Krampus. Halloween isn’t the only holiday that cans get creepy. Valentine’s Day, Christmas and even Prom Night…ok that’s not a holiday but still.

“Mad Scientists”

Premieres Friday, November 5th at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+

Oh yes, the evil scientist creating clones, monsters, women, and more. Dark knowledge that takes someone down a path of madness is always good for a scare. But what about the modern government scientist that takes his powers too far. Maybe creating the secret weapon to save or enslave mankind?

We can always expect that the show will touch on underrated horror movies along with the well-known classics. Are you looking forward to the new season? Let us know in the comments below and give us some of your favorite movies in those categories.
