Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been a topic of discussion in anticipation of his role in The Boys season 4. Despite originally missing out on season 3 due to his commitments on The Walking Dead, Morgan is now confirmed to be joining the cast for the upcoming season. He previously teased his involvement in the show with an NSFW image on social media, showcasing his readiness for the role and demonstrating his perfect fit for The Boys’ trademark sense of humor.

Many fans initially speculated that Morgan would portray Tek-Knight, a character resembling a blend of Iron Man and Batman. This theory gained traction, especially since the character was a notable figure from the original comics who hadn’t yet appeared in the TV series. However, those speculations were debunked as it was revealed in teaser trailers that Derek Wilson, known for his roles in Preacher, would take on the role in the spin-off series, Gen V. Despite this casting choice, fans still anticipate the surprises and twists that The Boys season 4 has in store for them, given the show’s track record of subverting expectations.

Gen V is about to make its debut and promises to pave the way for an expansive exploration of the dark, superhero universe. Actress Claudia Doumit, known for her role as Congresswoman Victoria Neuman in The Boys, reprises her character in this spinoff. Doumit recently emphasized that the spinoff is more than just an appetizer for fans. It lays the crucial groundwork and establishes the foundations that will shape the upcoming fourth season of The Boys. Doumit also encouraged viewers to watch Gen V because it provides a wealth of information that will be integral to understanding the developments in season 4.

“It was great to shoot Gen V because they tee up a lot of stuff that’s going to happen in season 4 for The Boys,” Doumit said. “Gen V lays a lot of the groundwork and a lot of the foundations that season 4 will be built on for The Boys. So, watch it because it gives you a lot of information.”

Set in the halls of Godolkin University, an institution owned by Vought and dedicated to nurturing young superhumans, Gen V takes the audience on a journey into the lives of aspiring heroes. However, within the university’s walls, a veil of secrecy shrouds dark and unsettling truths that begin to unravel. The students are faced with a dilemma as they must confront the very ideals and principles they once aspired to embody as heroes.

Chace Crawford is all set to make an appearance in the upcoming season of Gen V, where he will be reprising his character, The Deep. Alongside him, other familiar faces will also be making a return to the show. Jessie T. Usher will reprise his role as A-Train, Colby Minifie as Ashley Barrett, P. J. Byrne as Adam Bourke and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Gen V is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 29, 2023.
