Jenna Ortega‘s solemn sleuth Wednesday Addams returned for her sophomore year at Nevermore Academy earlier this year – but she wasn’t alone. Wednesday‘s titular teen was joined by several returning stars and a few newcomers, including some epic guest stars, but now, with a third season on the way, fans are already wondering who else could join the A-list ensemble. Catherine Zeta-Jones, who stars in the Netflix series as the Addams Family matriarch Morticia, has thrown one name into the ring: her friend Danny DeVito. She even knows exactly what role he should play, though she isn’t confident that he would be up for it.
Zeta-Jones is married to veteran actor and producer Michael Douglas, whose close friendship with DeVito spans decades, having started back when they were roommates in the late 1960s. “I don’t know how Danny DeVito hasn’t been cast already,” she told Variety at the Wednesday FYC event in Hollywood on Sunday. “I was with him for our birthday in September [she and Douglas share the same birthday, Sept. 25] and I was like, ‘Why isn’t Danny DeVito in Wednesday?’… Imagine Danny DeVito as Cousin Itt? That’d be so cool.”
