The Top 10 Famous Sports Couples

Quite like movie stars, the public is enamored by the love lives of athletes and sports couples. The interest level goes up when you pair an athlete with a celebrity. Similarly, you get a real power couple when you pair a sports superstar with another sportsperson. So many power couples have existed in the past, and so many are making it work at present. People often get motivated when they see how those power couples are doing in their real lives, and this, sometimes, even inspires them to start their journey to meet someone famous for dating.

It is not always possible, but you can now interact with people of your choice thanks to online dating. With these dating platforms, it is possible to find executives, CEOs, nerds, celebs, and all sorts of people who are doing great in their respective fields. You should not even worry about your age as there are many teenage dating sites to meet like-minded people worldwide as well. And if you want some more motivation before you start your search for true love, here is a bit more about the top 10 famous sports couples.

  • Curtis Conway and Laila Ali

Who does not know these former athletes and how they surprised the world with their performances in their respective fields. They both tied the knot in 2007 and now have a daughter and a son. Conway, however, was married before and had three children as well.

  • Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi

Andrei Agassi has achieved so much in tennis, but his personal life is also full of ups and downs. He married Steffi Graff in 2001 and has a song and a daughter. Agassi married Brooke Shields and Barbra Streisand before marrying Graff.

  • Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy

Caroline Wozniacki, a Danish superstar, has the privilege to be the first Scandinavian player to become women’s tennis world # 1. Rory McIlroy is known for his achievements in golf, as he became the top-ranked player for a total of 95 weeks. He also managed to win three major championships by the age of 25, and this puts him in the league of superstars like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. Both of them started dating in 2011 and eventually got married in 2013. Things did not work out well between them, and they ended it in 2014.

  • Lindsey Vonn and PK Subban

Retired Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn and NJ Devil Subban met in the 2017 ESPYs and eventually started dating in 2018. His agent played a significant role in bringing the superstars together. In 2019, the duo decided to make it legal.

  • Alex Morgan and Servando Carrasco

Both Carrasco and Morgan met at the University of California and went on to play professionally. Morgan plays for the Orlando Pride and the United States Women’s National Team, whereas Carrasco serves as a midfielder for the LA Galaxy. Morgan has a pretty decorated career, and she decided to marry Carrasco in 2014. They are making it work despite the challenges of long-distance.

  • Roger Federer and Mirka Federer

Tennis stars Mirka Vavrinec and Roger Federer met each other during the 2000 Sydney Olympics. But, they did not marry until 2009, when she was already expecting her first child. She gave birth to twins in 2014 and is having a happy family life.

  • Anna Kournikova and Sergei Fedorov

Before Maria Sharapova stunned the world with her beautiful smile, Kournikova was considered the most photographed tennis player in the world. Her relationship with Fedorov made headlines for the wrong reasons, though. Sergei Fedorov was a big name in Hockey, and he married Kournikova after years of friendship. It did not last long, though, and Kournikova eventually married Enrique Iglesias.

  • Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe

Bird, a member of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm, and Rapinoe, an Olympic gold medalist, made headlines when they decided to date and made it public. They are in a relationship since 2016 and were the first same-sex couple to feature the cover of ESPN’s “The Body Issue.”

  • Nomar Garciaparra and Mia Hamm

Retired baseball player Garciaparra and former US soccer star Hamm tied the knot in 2003. They first met and started dating in 2001. They have three children, two of which are twins. Hamm now co-owns MLS franchise LA FC, whereas Garciaparra is Spectrum SportsNet LA analyst.

  • Kealia Ohai and J.J. Watt

Watt, who is a defender for the Houston Texans, and Ohai, who plays for the Houston Dash soccer team, were in a relationship since 2016, but they did not make it public for a long time. They eventually got engaged in 2019.

From athletes to musicians to every other industry in between, so many popular individuals have tied the knots to form iconic power couples. Sometimes, they are from different states or even countries, but they eventually find a way to be together and inspire their fans to the core. So long as there is love in a relationship, it always works. And that is what everyone should bear in mind, always!
