The Emmy push for Bob Odenkirk to be recognized has begun with some promotion on the Better Call Saul social media channels. This includes sharing a “For Your Consideration” image of Odenkirk’s Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill. AMC and the show’s producers are hoping to see Odenkirk nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who’s been keeping up with the Breaking Bad spinoff that would disagree.
If Odenkirk gets the nomination, it wouldn’t be his first for the series. He was previously nominated for three consecutive years in 2015, 2016, and 2017, followed by another nomination in 2019. The big question is whether he can finally grab the gold statuette for the final season of the series, as Odenkirk hasn’t managed to get the win there just yet. He did manage to claim the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama on two separate occasions.

Only a handful of actors from Better Call Saul have been nominated for acting awards at the Emmys. For his role as Mike Ehrmantraut, Jonathan Banks has also been nominated four times for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series award. Gus Fring actor Giancarlo Esposito has similarly been nominated twice, joining Odenkirk and Banks as the only three actors from the series to be nominated, though none of them have gotten the win.

Fans Want Rhea Seehorn to Be Nominated
AMC
Meanwhile, fans have also been asking why Rhea Seehorn hasn’t yet been nominated for her acclaimed performance as standout character Kim Wexler. The show’s cast and crew have also questioned this, as Seehorn’s co-star Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin) recently spoke about how deserving she is of the nomination. Like the fans, he just can’t figure out how it hasn’t happened yet.
“You think she’s good on-screen? You should be in front of her and have a front-row seat, because that’s what I’ve had,” Fabian told Variety. “I would like to think that someday I’d be as good as Rhea Seehorn.”
On the lack of Emmy nominations, Fabian added, “I believe she has been grossly overlooked. In terms of just solid, consistent, amazing work, if you’re going to give an Emmy out for something like that, for God’s sake you at least have to nominate Rhea Seehorn. I just don’t see how you can’t.”
The final episodes of Better Call Saul will start airing on AMC and streaming on AMC+ on July 11, 2022.
