As one of the original streaming services out there, Hulu has managed to offer its subscribers quite an extensive catalog of films and television shows that would entertain anyone for days. As next month approaches, the platform has a slew of shows scheduled for release that viewers won’t want to overlook.
With plenty of comedies to keep the laughs coming and enough dramas to make viewers think, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. No matter what viewers are in the mood to watch, they’re guaranteed to find something on Hulu next month.
‘Animal Control’ (Season 3)

Animal Control is a sitcom that follows an animal control unit operating in Seattle who begin to realize humans are the ones making their lives more complicated, not animals. At the helm of the crew is Frank Shaw (Joel McHale), a cynical Senior Animal Control Officer who happens to be a former cop who was fired after discovering corruption at his precinct.

The other cast of witty and humorous characters include Emily Price (Vella Lovell), the spunky and chipper director at the A.C. Northwest precinct, Shred Taylor (Michael Rowland), Frank’s partner, Victoria Sands (Grace Palmer), a street-smart Animal Control officer from New Zealand, and Amit Patel (Ravi V. Patel), one of the Animal Control officers and Victoria’s partner. With plenty of antics abounding, the animal element of the series certainly makes it wild. Animal Control is streaming on January 3.
‘Going Dutch’ (Season 1)

Going Dutch is a comedy series about a different kind of military unit. After going off on an unfiltered rant, loudmouth Army Colonel Patrick Quinn (Denis Leary) is sent to the Netherlands as a punishment for his actions. Now at a base with no real military purpose, the colonel struggles to integrate with the much younger and lively crew. To complicate matters more, his estranged daughter, Captain Maggie Quinn (Taylor Misiak), was the base’s interim commander. Relocated to a place he doesn’t want to be, Patrick attempts to reestablish a relationship with his daughter, all while restoring order at the base. The series also includes hilarious performances by Danny Pudi, Laci Mosley, Hal Cumpston, Dempsey Bryk, Joe Morton, and Catherine Tate. Going Dutch is streaming on January 3.
‘Doc’ (Season 1)

Doc is a medical drama series about Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker), the chief of internal and family medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. A talented and driven doctor, Amy’s life dramatically changes after she’s involved in a terrible car accident. Having suffered a traumatic brain injury, she suffered extreme memory loss and cannot recall the previous eight years of her life.

Shifting Gears is a comedy starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings as Matt and Riley, an estranged father and daughter who are brought back together after Riley returns home with her children. A widower and owner of a classic car workshop, Matt rarely sees eye to eye with his daughter, who left home when she was just 18 years old. However, when she shows up on his doorstep years later asking for help, he’s unable to turn her away. Now living under the same roof once again, the pair’s relationship begins to heal in what’s likely to be a rather humorous way. Shifting Gears is streaming on January 9.
‘Goosebumps: The Vanishing’ (Season 2)

Developed for television by Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller, Goosebumps: The Vanishing is a supernatural horror series based on the immensely popular book series by R. L. Stine. The show’s first season focused on a group of five high schoolers who took it upon themselves to investigate the tragic death of a local teen. In doing so, they unearthed their parents’ dark secrets that were meant to remain buried many decades later. The show’s second season will focus on teenage siblings who discover a unique threat inside their home. Having now set off a chain of unexpected events, the pair find themselves entrenched in the mystery of five teenagers who vanished in 1994. Goosebumps: The Vanishing is streaming on January 10.
‘Paradise’ (Season 1)

Created by Dan Fogelman, Paradise is a Hulu original series that follows a Secret Service agent named Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown). Part of President Cal Bradford’s (James Marsden) detail, Xavier becomes entangled in a high-stakes investigation after the president is shockingly murdered. As the last person to see the president alive and with no real clues as to who the perpetrator could be, Xavier becomes the prime suspect. The show’s cast also includes Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV. Paradise is streaming on January 28.
