Actress and voice artist Erica Muse has two new film releases now available, each showcasing a different side of the genre versatility that has defined her career. Between a campy horror-comedy and a darkly funny psychological thriller, Muse continues to prove she’s just as comfortable behind a microphone voicing anime characters as she is in front of the camera.
The first release, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Shark, is a horror-comedy from Wild Eye Releasing that reimagines the classic Jekyll and Hyde tale with a distinctly absurd twist: a grief-stricken scientist who takes an untested drug and transforms into a bloodthirsty man-shark. Muse joins a cast led by Randy Clower, Dani Bliss, and Victoria Chaney in the film, which leans fully into its practical creature effects and self-aware, so-bad-it’s-good charm. The film arrived on digital and DVD in January, complete with cast featurettes and behind-the-scenes extras.
The second release finds Muse in far darker territory. Don’t F With Mary Jane, a psychological thriller from Breaking Glass Pictures, follows a woman unraveling after a betrayal, as she sets out to test the men from her past — with increasingly violent results. Muse stars alongside Swisyzinna, Joe Walker, and Trey Seward in the film, directed by Joseph Herrera, which blends dark comedy with revenge-thriller tension. It’s now streaming on Amazon Prime, with additional digital platforms rolling out.
Together, the two projects highlight the range Muse has built a career on — moving fluidly between camp and menace, practical effects and psychological unease, without losing her footing in either. It’s the same versatility that’s carried her across a growing résumé in film, television, and voice-over work, and these latest releases add two more distinct entries to that list.
