Manifest Season 4 Jumps Straight to Top of Netflix Streaming Chart

After being saved from cancelation, the return of Manifest has proven to be a hit for Netflix as it took the streamers’ top spot this weekend.

NBC

It took more than a little push for Netflix to commit to saving Manifest when it was canceled after three seasons at NBC. Now their gamble looks to have paid off as the first part of the fourth and final season jumped straight back to the top of Netflix’s Top 10 list following its premiere on the weekend. Just like when Netflix added the original episodes before agreeing to bring the show to a proper conclusion, the series has been showing just how big its fan base is.

Netflix’s fourth season of Manifest will consist of a total of 20 episodes. The first ten of those picked up the story from the cliffhanger ending of season 3 and continues to delve into the mystery of Flight 828 and its passengers. The fact that Manifest debuted at the top of Netflix’s chart proves that there was a lot of interest in the series when NBC decided not to renew the show, something that has worked out in Netflix’s favor. At the time of the renewal, creator Jeff Rake thanked fans for their support in getting the fourth season off the ground, saying:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“What started years ago as a flight of fancy deep in my imagination has evolved into the jet engine journey of a lifetime. Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned the worldwide outpouring of love and support for this story, its characters, and the team who work so hard to bring it all to life. That we will be able to reward the fans with the ending they deserve moves me to no end. On behalf of the cast, the crew, the writers, directors, and producers, thank you to Netflix, to Warner Bros., and of course to the fans. You did this.”

Will Manifest Deliver a Satisfying Conclusion for Fans?

Universal Television

The final season of Manifest will try to make sense of the mysteries and many storylines that were in play when NBC canceled the show. Following in the footsteps of series such as Lost, there is a big worry that the show’s finale will end up slipping down the same path to an unsatisfactory conclusion. While Rake originally had more seasons envisioned to tell the story, he previously said that he was confident that he would be able to tell the story he wanted to in one last 20-episode season.

That should have at least settled some of the worries that Manifest could end up failing its fans. The fourth season has kicked off with a good start, but there will now be a little wait before the final ten episodes bring the story to a close. Filming has reportedly wrapped on those last episodes, and with the series being renowned for premiering on dates with significance to the show, there is a belief among fans that the last ten episodes may drop on June 2, 2023. Whether that turns out to be true or whether there will be a long wait for all of the answers to Manifest’s mysteries to be revealed is something that we can only wait to find out.
