Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 is an animated television series that will be premiering on Disney+ in January 2023. The show follows a group of unique clone troopers referred to as Clone Force 99 or The Bad Batch as they embark on thrilling adventures. The Bad Batch is a group of genetically enhanced clones created to be exceptionally skilled at specific tasks and possess unique physical abilities. They are voiced by actor Dee Bradley Baker and include Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo. They were originally introduced in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and have gained a large following among fans for their unique personalities and skills.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch has recently released six character posters on the official Star Wars Twitter account, to promote their live-action series ahead of its second season premiering on Disney+. The posters feature each of the core five members of the Bad Batch alongside their former teammate and enemy, Crosshair. By the end of The Bad Batch Season 1, the marksman had turned against the team and sided with the Empire. Crosshair’s poster reveals he is still proudly donning his Imperial armor in Season 2. For the main group, their Season 1 costumes have been revamped with softer tones, now composed of orange and brown instead of the traditional red-and-black. Star Wars fans are excited to see what awaits them when The Bad Batch returns for its highly anticipated second season.
In May 2022, Lucasfilm released a teaser trailer for the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The teaser featured the team in new armor, with more shown in the full trailer, which was released in December. The official trailer gave fans a close-up look at the new costumes and also confirmed that popular Clone Wars characters Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and Wookie padawan Gungi would be returning to the show.

Commander Cody Returns in The Bad Batch Season 2

The Bad Batch takes place after the fall of the Republic and in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). Cody attempted to kill Kenobi as part of the execution of Order 66, which commanded all clones with Inhibitor chips to turn against the Jedi Order. Captain Rex, Crosshair, and The Bad Batch have removed their Inhibitor chips, but it is not yet known if Cody has done the same. Cody is a major character in the second season of The Bad Batch. In the trailer, he is shown working for the Empire and wearing new Imperial armor, though he has not yet been given his own character poster.
The official synopsis of the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch:
“Months have passed since the events on Kamino, and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.”
The second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be available to stream on Disney+ starting January 4th, 2023. The first season of the show is already streaming on the platform.
