Halle Berry Oscar de la Renta Dress | 2023 Oscars Afterparty

After arriving at the 2023 Oscars on March 12 in a knockout gown by Tamara Ralph, Halle Berry came back for round two at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a sheer minidress. The Oscar de la Renta design, sourced from the designer’s fall 2023 collection, was embroidered with dozens of sequin bows arranged in layers around the dress’s bell-shaped silhouette. Berry’s stylist for the evening, Lindsay Flores, paired the afterparty ensemble with silver Niwaka jewelry and heels from Italian luxury shoe brand Casadei.

Like many celebrities spotted wearing the sheer trend in recent months, Berry layered her party outfit over a black bodysuit. At face value, the design was sexy and sophisticated. A closer inspection, though, revealed even more intricate details. On top of the mesh base layer, the dress featured rows of carefully arranged bowties, each adorned with hundreds of black sequins.

Just below the neckline, the sleeveless dress boasted a large bowtie placed at the center of the chest. The back and sides of the dress mirrored the arrangement, with another large bow resting at the center of Berry’s back and two more under each arm. As the tiers descended down her skirt, the embellishments became even smaller, drawing attention to the piece’s high-low flare. Her glam team completed the look with subtle makeup and layered curls that accentuated her edgy pixie cut.

Similar to her angelic look earlier in the evening, Berry’s afterparty ensemble offered a glimpse at her toned legs, the product of an intense pre-Oscars workout routine.
