The hunt for the next James Bond rages on, and a new favorite has now emerged. Alongside the likes of The Gentlemen star Theo James, former Superman Henry Cavill, Slow Horses actor Jack Lowden, and Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Enola Holmes and Pistol star Louis Partridge
has seen his odds improve, as the action franchise potentially skews towards a younger 007 in its highly anticipated reboot.
Best known for roles in Netflix’s Enola Holmes franchise, in which he stars as Viscount Tewkesbury and will return for the now filming Enola Holmes 3, and for portraying punk rock icon Sid Vicious in the TV series Pistol, Louis Partridge, aged just 21, is now on odds of 11/2, according to Paddy Power.

James Bond shake-ups seem to be happening every week now, and the latest could see the superspy on the hunt for a new filming location.
Not only do his age, experience, and lesser-known profile work to his advantage, Partridge has in fact played a younger version of another firm James Bond favorite, Henry Cavill, with the pair featuring as the title character in last year’s Argylle. So, now that Cavill has likely aged out of the 007 role, could the Amazon reboot turn to a more fresh-faced version?
Several Younger Actors Are Now Reportedly Frontrunners To Lead Amazon’s 007 Reboot

While we await more official details about the future of James Bond, various rumors are now swirling around. The most notable is that the character will return to more lighthearted adventures with quips and gadgets, thus leaving the darker and grittier world of Daniel Craig’s James Bond behind. Further rumors have claimed that the franchise will center on a much younger version of the characters than audiences are used to in an effort to differentiate itself from Craig’s era, as well as making the setting more “retro.”
This has led to several new names emerging as frontrunners for the coveted role of James Bond. MCU star and Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is now said to be in the running, alongside the likes of The White Lotus, Citadel, and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy actor Leo Woodall, Barbie and SAS Rogue Heroes star Connor Swindell, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’s Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Heartstopper star Kit Connor, Gladiator II lead Paul Mescal, and Euphoria and Saltburn actor Jacob Elordi.
However, despite this, one James Bond expert is convinced that Henry Cavill, who was runner-up for the coveted role back in 2006 when Daniel Craig was chosen to lead Casino Royale, will get his chance to don the famous tux. Mark O’Connell, a James Bond historian, believes that Cavill just missing out on the part last time stands him in good stead this time, and would continue a 007 tradition. “What often happens in Bond is that the runner-up is kind of favored next time round,” O’Connell explained in a conversation with the New York Post. “Roger Moore was looked at for Dr. No in the first Bond film. Timothy Dalton was looked at in the early ’70s.”

Summary
James Bond, code name 007, is a fictional character created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, who featured him in twelve novels and two short story collections. There have been six other authors who wrote authorised Bond novels or novelizations after Fleming’s death in 1964: Kingsley Amis, Christopher Wood, John Gardner, Raymond Benson, Sebastian Faulks and Jeffery Deaver; a new novel, written by William Boyd, is planned for release in 2013. Additionally, Charlie Higson wrote a series on a young James Bond and Kate Westbrook wrote three novels based on the diaries of a recurring series character, Moneypenny.
The fictional British Secret Service agent has also been adapted for television, radio, comic strip and video game formats as well as being used in the longest running and the second-highest grossing film franchise to date, which started in 1962 with Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as Bond. As of 2012, there have been twenty two films in the Eon Productions series, with a twenty third, Skyfall, due for release on 26 October 2012. The film will star Daniel Craig in his third portrayal of Bond: he is the sixth actor to play Bond in the Eon series. There have also been two independent productions of Bond films, Casino Royale, a 1967 spoof, and Never Say Never Again, a 1983 remake of an earlier Eon-produced film, Thunderball.
The films are renowned for a number of features, including the musical accompaniment, with the theme songs to the films having picked up Academy Award nominations on several occasions. Other important elements which run through most of the films include Bond’s cars, his guns and the gadgets he is supplied with by Q Branch.
