Clint Eastwood’s Last Movie Will Star Toni Colette and Nicholas Hoult

Clint Eastwood is one of Hollywood’s most seasoned actors in history, an icon in the industry that has been making and starring in films nonstop since the 1950s. He’s flexed his well-earned repertoire in various genres, from the classic Westerns he’s most known for to political dramas to science fiction. He’s completely comfortable both in front of and behind the camera and despite now being over 90 years old, he’s still ready to contribute one last piece of film to his polished career called Juror #2. Having announced the plan back in March, per a report from Deadline, we now know more details, including that Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette are set to star in it.

Clint Eastwood’s upcoming project is set to be his final filmmaking achievement, proving that age sometimes can do little to stop someone who knows their passion and their limits. His last movie was a Western drama called Cry Macho that premiered in 2021, in which he starred as Mike Milo, a retired rodeo star coerced by his friend Howard (Dwight Yoakam) to bring his son back from Mexico City. Most of the film focuses on the bond between Mike and the son on the trip back, sharing their lives and struggles. Now his newest and last film will be a crime drama thriller centered on a murder trial where one of the jurors comes to realize that he was the one who killed the victim in a tragic driving accident. He seeks to save the defendant from a guilty charge while trying not to put himself in the crosshairs. The project is reportedly in its final stages of being greenlit by Warner Bros. It is set to star both Toni Collette and Nicholas Hoult, who is currently making the rounds in theaters with Nicolas Cage’s vampiric horror comedy Renfield.

Hoult has been quite omnipresent in the film circuit lately, Renfield only his latest project to make the rounds. In just the past few years, the actor has starred in various movies like belligerent comedy Deadpool 2, period drama The Favourite, a biographical drama called Tolkien in which he starred as the legendary fantasy author, and comedy horror The Menu, which starred Ralph Fiennes as a literal cutthroat Michelin chef. Alongside Eastwood’s Juror #2, he’ll also be voicing Jon Arbuckle in the latest adaptation of Garfield. He will also play Thomas Hutter in the upcoming reboot of Nosferatu, which has Bill Skarsgård tapped to play the iconic vampire.

Meanwhile, Toni Colette has captivated audiences with performances in some of the most jaw-dropping films in recent years. Her most monumental one to date is, without a doubt, the chilling psychological horror film Hereditary (2018), which earned her several Best Actress awards. She’s also set to star in the next film by Korean director Bong Joon-Ho, who previously shook audiences and critics with his psychological horror piece Parasite (2019). His next project is Mickey 17, a science fiction drama coming in 2024 that will also star Robert Pattinson (The Batman), Steven Yeun, who is currently wowing audiences with the new Netflix thriller Beef, and Mark Ruffalo (Avengers: Endgame).
