Savor Beauty Reveals the Backstage Ritual for Runway-Ready Skin at AKNVAS

Backstage at New York Fashion Week, the beauty look begins long before the first brush of makeup. At AKNVAS, Savor Beauty was responsible for the skin, working alongside hair lead Rutger for Uberliss and makeup lead Linda Gradin and their teams to create the fresh, deeply hydrated complexion that would ultimately meet the runway lights.

As the official skincare and skin-prep partner for AKNVAS’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation, Savor Beauty’s estheticians worked model by model at the hair and makeup stations, giving each one a streamlined Korean Beauty ritual designed to leave skin smooth, balanced and supple beneath the finished beauty look. The team worked in black smocks by Noel Asmar, moving through the backstage rush with the kind of focused, hands-on attention that Fashion Week skin demands.

The starting point was Jasmine Milk Cleanser, followed by a light application of the Black Cherry Collagen Peel where appropriate, helping to cleanse the complexion and refine the appearance of surface texture without stripping the skin of moisture.

The star of the ritual was Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which became the essential hydration step before makeup. Applied generously enough to flood the complexion with moisture while remaining lightweight, it left skin looking plump, fresh and ready for the next layer.

That was followed by Toning Mist, adding another veil of lightweight hydration, before the estheticians finished with moisturizer selected according to each model’s skin and a brief upward facial massage. The massage helped wake up the complexion and release facial tension, while keeping the overall finish soft and natural.

For the male models, Sapphire After-Shave Gel was also incorporated into the skincare ritual, providing lightweight hydration and care as part of their customized skin prep.

The result was exactly the kind of complexion Fashion Week beauty calls for: lit-from-within skin, deeply hydrated with a soft satin finish. It was fresh enough to catch the light without competing with the makeup, and polished enough to allow the clothes and the delicate details of the collection to remain the focus.

For Chapter III: Swans Before Innocence, AKNVAS designer Christian Juul Nielsen looked to the lingering light of a Scandinavian summer and Hans Christian Andersen’s The Wild Swans. The collection moved between everyday dressing and something more enchanted, with flowers, sculpted shapes and sheer layers creating a world that felt both tender and slightly untamed.

That tension carried through to the runway beauty. The soft, luminous complexion created by Savor Beauty provided a clean, tactile counterpoint to the collection’s more intricate elements: tiny flowers suspended from sheer layers, mixed-striped cottons reimagining classic shirting, and asymmetric lace gowns drawn up with ribbons. The skin remained understated, allowing the texture and movement of the clothes to come forward while still giving the overall look a healthy, almost illuminated quality.

Front row, actress Kate Walsh, Niki DeMar, and Erin Dana Lichy were among those watching the collection come down the runway.

For Savor Beauty, the AKNVAS collaboration brought the brand’s personalized approach to Korean Beauty skincare into one of Fashion Week’s most fast-moving environments. Models may move through several beauty looks in a single day, but the objective backstage remained simple: give the skin the care it needs to look its best beneath the lights.

That same approach can be experienced at Savor Beauty’s two New York City spas, where treatments are customized to each guest’s skin. The West Village spa is located at 327 W 11th Street, and the Upper West Side location is at 448 Columbus Avenue.

At AKNVAS, the final effect was skin that looked effortlessly alive, hydrated, supple and softly luminous as the collection’s swans, flowers and sheer layers moved down the runway.
