Another classic tall tale came from Joey Budden. Boxing bright lights were dragged into a bizarre and completely hilarious retelling on the Joe Budden podcast with Jada Kiss. Internet circles and debates: part were filled with laughter and part with calls of “cap.”

The clip featured Joe stating how he went backstage at a concert, arm in-hand with curtain opening, to see Roy Jones stare at him with the devil in his eyes. He had to grab Joe’s wrist and beg him not to knock him out; there was even an aside that Joe had about 150 guys with him at the time. Because why wouldn’t he?
Such online reactions are just comedic. “Can’t nobody lie like Joey,” someone said. Another said, “His exaggeration of stories needs to be studied.” But Roy Jones Jr. actually straight-up confirmed that story before. So Joe might be half-living it and half-makeing it up.
Those who responded did so with disbelief: “Don’t nobody have a wild story like Joe,” one user speculated, entertained yet skeptical. “For some odd strange reason, I never believe anything he says!!!” replied another. Fair. Joe does stretch his stories.
But now the question comes: Would a world champion boxer named Roy Jones Jr. allow Joe to grab his wrists? “He lost me at that point where he ‘grabbed his wrists,’” commented one person. “Come on! A world champion boxer let you grab him…. right?”
And here is that last funny statement, as any mention of Joe adding to the number of guys with him every time he tells the story always finishes in laughter. “Every time this guy tells this story, he adds 2% more people,” one user joked. “Might be inflation or suttin.”
Fight-wise or love-wise, Joe Budden will make sure they keep the conversation going. One of the most hilarious hip-hop moments ever, whether 100% believable or 100% exaggerated. And in either case, does it really matter at some point? It’s just really damn entertaining.
Jada is probably thinking, `How did we get here again?’ But that is the gift of a Joe Budden story: You have no idea where it is going but you just can’t stop listening.
