From sharing her newest day-fun hobby by the beach using a paddle with a wiffle-type ball, to simply having a blast by a dozen, actress Vanessa Hudgens chose to give her pickleball court fleeting picture mid-game in the sun with the very hashed casual caption: “Well, finally tried pickleball. Turns out I love it. Lol.”

If anything, this picture is anything but winding: Standing on the court in an oversized white T-shirt, Hudgens wreaked havoc with some abstract figures & shapes, pickleball paddle in hand as though this was her new favorite sport. The palm trees took part in their brief formal waltz in the background, an ideal open-air picture. Another player stands toward the periphery of the shot, paddle in one hand, hilariously supporting the social and laid-back nature of it all.
In plain English, pickleball is tennis with some attitude: smaller court, lighter ball, and one that has gone such distance in recent years. Needless to say, with her post, Hudgens seems to be riding the trend, while commenters were quick to join in the conversation with their own views.
One type of commenter wondered about this glowing artist: “Who is that bronzed goddess!!!” while others harked back to High School Musical in a comment in Portuguese that translated to, “She’s in Sharpay’s club now.”
The excitement went a little beyond glow up as more of the people came forth with their pickleball love stories: “Literally my sentiments after trying it for the first time!” Another chimed in: “It is my favorite 🤩 ❤️” And the Filipino pickleball community called out: “Joins us! Your Filipino pickleball fam!!! 🇵🇭.”
Except for a couple of entries, there was seemed to be a fog in the followers minds on what this sport really is. “Would you judge it to be more fun than standard tennis?” came the inquiry. Weird, really, since Hudgens had really nailed the tennis style in that photo.
This then set the more casual conversation in motion on Hudgens’ attire, with an Instagram user tagging a clothing brand and saying, “Need to get you some cute @yearofours fits for it now!” Another user agreed and backed this idea. It truly shows that the fashion police are always watching-even for casual sportswear.
But it’s that infectious joy that steals the show. Hudgens reminded us with her post that sometimes, the simplest things—like hitting over a net one of those perforated, tiny balls—can feel really rewarding. And judging by the caption, this is not going to be the last time we see her on a pickleball court.
