Brie Larson Shares Her Excitement at Fast 10 Casting Announcement

Following the announcement by Vin Diesel that Oscar winner Brie Larson will be joining him on The Fast and Furious 10, the Captain Marvel star has given her own reaction to the news with an Instagram post in which she expressed her excitement. The Fast Saga has pulled in many big names over the nine movies so far, including Gal Gadot, John Cena, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba, among others. With the franchise now heading into its final lap, it looks like the team wants to continue to bring in more star names before they put on the handbrake for the last time.

While the franchise may have started as a moderately successful hit, the films are now guaranteed to bring in big numbers at the box office. With Vin Diesel having revealed that the upcoming two movies will be the end of the franchise, it is certain that all of those who have enjoyed the high-octane action so far will want to see the series end on the big screen, meaning that both movies could be heading into the billion-dollar area.

It is not surprising that Larson is ecstatic about join the movie, after revealing back in February that she would love to join the franchise. In her post she said, “Excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel about joining the Fast family. Thank you for welcoming me in with so much kindness and excitement, @vindiesel. can’t wait to share more (when I can).”

Vin Diesel Welcomed Brie Larson to the Fast Finale With His Own Instagram Post

Having already revealed earlier that Jason Momoa will be joining Fast 10 as a secondary villain who will be “fun and flamboyant,” Diesel announced Larson as the latest star to add their star power to what is turning into a huge send-off for the 20 year old franchise. He wrote on his Instagram:

“Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘That’s Captain Marvel.’ Clearly there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in ‘Fast 10.’ You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”

It was announced shortly after the release of F9 last year that the main Fast and Furious series would conclude with back-to-back releases of the 10th and 11th movies in the franchise. So far, the cast is expected to include Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, John Cena, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Lucas Black, and Ludacris, as well as Momoa, Larson and of course Vin Diesel himself as Dominic Toretto. Fast 10 will be directed by Justin Lin and will arrive in theaters on May 19, 2023. From there, a number of spin-offs are planned to take the Fast Franchise into a new generation, meaning there is a lot of action still to come in the future in a set of whole new stories.
