Patrick Schwarzenegger, star of The White Lotus Season 3, doesn’t agree with the criticism towards his nepo baby label. Patrick is the son of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, but the actor says that sometimes he wishes he didn’t have his last name, rejecting the claims and saying, “It’s frustrating and you can get boxed in.”
In a conversation with The Sunday Times, Schwarzenegger spoke about his role in the HBO series, which centers on a resort where bad things tend to happen to the wealthy. In the show, Schwarzenegger plays Saxon Ratliff, a young man on vacation with his family who tries his best to impress the women he comes in contact with and has some questionable advice for his younger brother. The White Lotus is his biggest role to date, but it appears that Schwarzenegger has a bone to pick with those who accuse him of landing the role just because he’s part of the Schwarzenegger family…

After That Cameo in ‘The White Lotus,’ We Need to See More From the Character in Season 3
You might have heard a familiar voice on this week’s episode of ‘The White Lotus.’ Yes, it was probably who you thought it was.
“I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is. They’re not seeing that I’ve had 10 years of acting classes, put on school plays every week, worked on my characters for hours on end or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on.
Of course, it’s frustrating and you can get boxed in and you think at that moment, ‘I wish I didn’t have my last name.’ But that’s a small moment. I would never trade my life with anyone. I’m very fortunate to have the life and family that I have, the parents I have and the lessons and values they’ve instilled in me.”
The Schwarzenegger Name Helps, But Patrick Is Proving His Worth
HBO
After a couple of episodes of The White Lotus Season 3, Schwarzenegger’s Saxon Ratliff has become one of the most interesting characters of the season. A testosterone-driven rich white dude whose privileges are never enough whose biggest complaint is that his hotel room doesn’t have a mixer that he can use to drink his protein, Saxon is a compilation of male stereotypes, which are more believable and hilarious through Schwarzenegger’s great performance.
But this is certainly not his first role, with the young star having been doing this for years. Schwarzenegger started his career like all actors are supposed to: participating in indie features. His role in the psychological horror film Daniel Isn’t Real remains his absolute best. However, it has been the TV format which has allowed him to play more prominent roles in shows like The Staircase, The Boys spin-off Gen V, and The Terminal List. .
Of course, it’s hard to deny that his last name is one of the most recognizable in cinema history. But does that mean that he isn’t a good actor who should get the roles he auditions for? The nepo baby situation in Hollywood is a polarizing subject, but the imbalance in opportunities undeniably exists. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you can develop an entire career based purely on a surname. Eventually, all of them must prove their worth, and Schwarzenegger has done so with his films and TV shows so far.
