The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 3 Revealed (Spoiler’s) Secret and Offered More Questions Than Answers

That was some cliffhanger. The Hunting Party has brought the drama this season.

Before we discuss that, let’s analyze the weekly killer on The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 3, because Zack Lang proved to be interesting.

Initially, he seemed like a modern-day Robin Hood, stealing from the rich and murdering them, but Bex worried when his methods changed after he escaped from the Pit.

While the case took up most of the hour, I appreciated how in sync the Hunting Party trio was, and that we saw them interact outside of work.

Finally, Bex was determined to learn more about Col. Lazarus, but she didn’t expect to know what she discovered.

Was Zack Lang a Modern Robin Hood or an Opportunistic Psychopath?

Zach Lang was almost revered for killing the wealthy, and even merchandise was made in his honor.

This killer seemed to affect Hassani, as he stated they have a right to protest, not murder. He hated that Zack Lang was such a sensation.

Again, it’s hard to disagree with him when he said he washed the cars of millionaires who barely gave him the time of day and paid him a few bucks.

Unless you are a millionaire, we’ve all felt like that, but we generally don’t murder people.

He sounded like he cared about his parents, but Bex thought he was a narcissist with the way he spun tales, since Zack thought he was doing the greater good.

I loved how Bex knew Zack thrived on the attention he received from championing the people, rather than focusing on his anger and inferiority issues.

Bex worried that Zack seemed characteristic and cunning, so you wouldn’t see him coming, but his murders were almost like an exorcism because he violently destroyed the victims and their belongings.

The Therapy at the Pitt and Daddy Issues Worsened Zack

Understanding this serial killer was more complicated than the team thought.

Zack Lang (Michael Stahl-David) used to be obsessed with robbing and murdering the rich, but after escaping the Pit, he murdered the poor, and the team found them in expensive suits and watches.

It was difficult to believe that 580 bitcoins could be worth 60 million, and now he wanted people to worship him since he lived on the other side of the class.

It almost seemed like he chose his victims with care and transformed them into who he wanted them to be, and the reasoning was frightening.

We all know most psychotic breaks lead back to childhood. Even though Zack seemed to care for his father in some of his therapy sessions, we later learned, his father kicked him out after Zack killed the family cat and dressed it up with expensive jewels, trying to please his father.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

He thought his father cared more about wealth and appearances, prompting Zack to find victims who reminded him of his father.

The Pit didn’t help either, since they tried “rage room” therapy, letting him beat his anger on inanimate objects with a baseball bat.

Zack’s murders after the Pit were more violent, almost like he wanted revenge on his father for rejecting him.

We were sure of this when Zack kidnapped Damon, a worker at the bitcoin business. Zack seemed so overwrought with emotion that he thought he was confronting his father, who he thought hated him.

When people feel rejected, they do crazy things, and, again, these killers are more sympathetic in The Hunting Party Season 2.

I Loved Seeing the Hunting Party Trio So in Sync

Part of what makes The Hunting Party work has been their friendship, and their banter is a significant part of that.

We finally saw Bex’s apartment, but Hassani kept finding things wrong with it, since he’s probably had his house for years. It was such a moment as Bex tried to get them to focus on researching Lazarus.

I think “Zack Lang” was one of the killers that grated on Hassani, mainly because he didn’t like all the attention he received for acting like “Robin Hood.”

I had never seen him that irritated about a narcissistic killer, and it was interesting watching the guys in action as they confronted the leaders of the bitcoin business.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

Hassani looked like he fit the part the most and could get the most Intel out of them.

He’s not exactly uptight, but it was hilarious to watch Shane ask the magic eight ball if Hassani would still be uptight.

So Hassani took home a rabbit, and Shane took a toy. What should Bex take for herself? She needs something fun, too.

The Truth About Col.  Lazarus Shocked Bex

I don’t think the team liked AG Mallory exactly, but they were used to how she and her team ran operations. Suddenly, Col. Lazarus was in charge, and the Pit erased everything about her, which worried Bex.

I love how Bex wanted to use the one fact they discovered, which was that Col. Lazarus could run a mile in under five minutes. I used to help time the girls’ track team in high school, and that’s impressive.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC)

We haven’t seen Morales and Bex interact much one-on-one, so I appreciated that Morales got to use her techie skills to help Bex discover the truth about Col. Lazarus.

Her name was Caitlin Taylor, and she killed someone as a teenager. That just opened a much bigger can of worms, such as how she graduated from the Pit and became a colonel.

What was up with that cliffhanger, and what Bex learned about Col. Lazarus? Is she getting closer to realizing that Shane and their new boss are connected?

Over to you, The Hunting Party Fanatics. What did you think of “Zach Lang” and his reverse Robin Hood tendencies? Were you surprised by Col. Lazarus’s backstory?
