Happy Mondays’ Bez says he’s “rinsing it” as Oasis after show DJ for reunion tour

Happy MondaysBez has said he is ”rinsing it” after landing the role of DJ at the after parties for Oasis’ upcoming Manchester dates.

The opening night of the Oasis Live ‘25 tour goes down on July 4 in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, the first of 19 shows in the UK and Ireland, with support from Richard Ashcroft and Cast.

They will then play a total of five shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park – on July 11, 12, 16, 19 and 20 – and the official after parties are being held after each gig at the city’s New Century Hall, with the Madchester legend set to be behind the decks.

Bez told the Daily Star: “I’ve got a little earner out of Oasis going on tour. I’m rinsing it, it’s true. I’m DJ-ing at the after shows in Manchester if anybody wants to go, Nobody’s asked me to do the other ones yet but I can do.”

Happy Mondays opened for fellow Mancunians Oasis at a string of stadium shows in the summer of 2000 during the ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ tour, and as Bez shared in the new interview, his connection to the band goes back to one of their earliest ever shows.

“I was at their very first gig they played with Noel at Middleton,” he recalled. “Every gig were scabby little clubs. Alan McGee came up with Jeff Barrett to Manchester and were looking for Manchester bands to sign.”

Liam Gallagher recently reflected on the “wasted years” that have taken place since the band’s 2009 split. Responding to a fan who asked how the rehearsals have felt, he said: “You know what it’s spiritual but I can’t help think about all those wasted years what a waste of PRECIOUS time”.

Noel Gallagher, meanwhile, is said to be “shocked” by how good the band are sounding in the rehearsals, according to Bono.

As revealed by NME in March, the dates will see Noel and Liam joined by guitarists Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs and Gem Archer as well as bassist Andy Bell – all longtime Oasis members.

On drums will be Joey Waronker, who has never played with Oasis before but did play on the tour supporting Liam and John Squire’s collaborative album last year. He has worked with the likes of BeckR.E.M.Elliott Smith and Roger Waters, as well as being a member of Thom Yorke‘s Atoms For Peace band.
