Liam Gallagher has hit back at reports on how he plans to spend his pay cheque from the Oasis reunion tour.
The past few days saw some outlets speculate about how the Britpop icon plans to spend the money he is set to make from his highly anticipated Oasis comeback tour, which will kick off later this summer.
According to publications like The Sun and The Standard, the frontman was looking to buy a “country mansion” in the Cotswolds. The reports also claimed that both he and his brother Noel are expected to take home £3million a piece for each of the 33 scheduled live shows – equating to a total taking of £100million each.
“[Liam and his fiancée Debbie Gwyther are] looking to buy an additional home as they love the Cotswolds area so much,” an anonymous “insider” told The Sun. “Security is a priority for Liam so that will be something they look for in the property.”
“Following the huge noise around the tour, he and Debbie feel they need more security for themselves and their family – and also for Buttons, their rescue dog,” they added, claiming that they were after high fences and CCTV.
Now, the singer has taken to X/Twitter to address the rumours head-on and deny the “insider” claims.

“Not looking to buy high security manor house in Cotswolds more interested in high security wig wam in Norfolk,” he quipped in a new update. He also responded to a fan who asked why people are “so interested in all these things you do like buying a house or building a pool”, responding: “God knows especially when there is poverty and war it just doesn’t make sense.”
The comments around the “pool” come after reports were shared earlier this month, stating that he was building a pool in his North London home, despite previously admitting he “can’t swim”.
Elsewhere in the X updates, Gallagher also responded to another fan who said: “You’ll be mingling with the likes of the Beckhams and Jeremy Clarkson and all those other CELEBRITY FOLK,” simply writing: “Leave it out”. The then replied to a fourth who speculated that he would be selling his iconic parkas on online after the tour. “After the tour I’m gonna burn all my parkas in a spiritual ritual,” he joked.

The massive tour with Oasis is set to begin with huge shows across the UK and Ireland this summer, before the band head overseas for a number of international dates.
So far, little is known about which members will be joining Liam and Noel for the massive gigs, although the frontman has been sharing hints about the setlists and the hopes for new material.
In other Liam Gallagher news, the singer recently shared his love of the Sex Pistols, despite Glen Matlock describing Oasis as “boring”. He also issued a response following thousands of tickets to the Oasis reunion shows being cancelled by Ticketmaster, and hit out at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame following Oasis’ second nomination, claiming that it “is for wankers”.
The comments around the Ticketmaster ticket cancellations comes after roughly 50,000 Oasis tickets ended up on resale sites, despite efforts to prevent touts from re-selling them at inflated prices. In response, promoters Live Nation and SJM confirmed that all tickets sold via secondary ticketing sites other than Twickets would be cancelled and made available again through Ticketmaster at face value.
However, the process went far from smoothly, with numerous fans taking to social media over the weekend to claim that they had their tickets wrongfully cancelled after they bought them legitimately.
