Twisted Sister have confirm plans for a reunion tour in 2026 – find out more below.
The rock band retired from touring in 2016, but have recently announced that they’re soon returning for a world tour. The comeback tour was first hinted at on social media, with Dee Snider and the band teasing something for their upcoming 50th anniversary.
They have since confirmed and announced with Ultimate Classic Rock that they’re reuniting for a 50th anniversary world tour beginning next year. Exact dates and cities have yet to be announced.
Snider said in a statement: “If you’re lucky enough to be in a band that people still want to see after fifty years(!), how can you not answer the call? In 2026, Twisted Fucking Sister will hit stages around the world because WE STILL WANNA ROCK!!”
Additionally Twisted Sister and Dee Snider have confirmed that longtime bassist Mark Mendoza won’t be joining them for the upcoming shows. In his place will be Russell Pzütto, who has played with the band in the past.
Besides Snider and Pzütto, the rest of Twisted Sister will be completed by founding guitarist and longest-serving member Jay Jay French, longtime lead guitarist Eddie Ojeda and drummer Joe Franco.
Jay Jay French said of Mendoza’s absence in a statement, per Rolling Stone: “Me, Dee and Eddie have performed as Twisted Sister for nearly 50 years with 10 different bass players and drummers. The band has never discussed internal realignment before and has no intention of doing it now. Suffice to say that almost all bands with a 50 year history have gone through realignment as a byproduct of time. We wish Mark well in his future endeavours.”
Drummer Joe Franco has also performed with the band in the past, and will be filling for late drummer A.J. Pero, who died towards the end of their farewell run in 2016. Franco played with the band briefly in the mid-’80s, and featured on their 1987 album ‘Love Is For Suckers’.
Since retiring from touring, Twisted Sister have remained largely inactive, only reuniting once to perform for their Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction in 2023 – for that performance, Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy filled in for the late Pero.
