By the numbers: Standout stats from bizarre final day in the NBA

The final day of the NBA regular season featured all 30 teams in action, though few had real stakes to play for. With starters resting around the league and some of the strangest NBA lineups you’ll ever see, the day had a little something for everyone.

Here’s a look at some of the key numbers from the NBA regular season’s curtain call.

1st – Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard notched his first career triple-double with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists in a 120-114 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Pritchard had never previously grabbed more than eight rebounds or eight assists in a game. He joins Hall of Famers Larry Bird and John Havlicek as the only Celtics ever to rack up that stat-line, per Celtics play-by play announcer Sean Grande.

3 – Udonis Haslem knocked down three 3-pointers in his final contest after making a total of six in his previous 878 games. He finished with 24 points, just the fifth time he scored 24 or more in a game over his 20-year NBA career.

24 – The Charlotte Hornets missed their first 24 attempts from beyond the arc before finally sinking one (and finishing 6-for-32) in their 106-95 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. A long season in Charlotte comes to a merciful close.

28 – The Dallas Mavericks trailed the San Antonio Spurs 42-14 after the first quarter. The 28-point difference was the largest first-quarter deficit in Mavericks franchise history.

46 – Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas dropped 46 points against the 76ers. It was Thomas’ fourth game with more than 40 points this season despite not being a regular rotation player. The second-year guard has only topped 20 minutes three times since March 10.

55 – Led by Klay Thompson’s 17 first-quarter points, the Golden State Warriors totalled 55 in the frame against the Portland Trail Blazers. It was the highest-scoring quarter for any team this season, and the most in a first quarter in NBA history, per Warriors PR.

56 – Golden State eventually cruised to a 157-101 victory. The 56-point win over the Blazers was the largest margin of victory this season, according to StatMuse.

83 – Because of the timing of his trade to the Nets, Mikal Bridges was able to play in an 83rd game, becoming the first player to play 83 regular season contests in one campaign since Josh Smith in 2014-15. He’s the 42nd player in NBA history to play more than the standard 82. Of course, Bridges played only four seconds of the Nets’ 134-105 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, fouling on the first possession before subbing out.

111 – The Miami Heat only played one starter more than 10 minutes in their win on Sunday, which allowed their bench to score an NBA-record 111 points. The reserves completely shattered the league’s previous record of 98, which happened to be set exactly one month ago by the Nets.

300 – Thompson became the third player ever to make 300 or more 3-pointers in a season, joining his teammate Stephen Curry – who’s done it four times – and James Harden (2018-19).

392 – With his four-second stint, Bridges kept his consecutive games played streak alive at 392. It’s the NBA’s longest active streak.

879 – Haslem played in his 879th and final career game, a 123-110 victory over the Orlando Magic.
