Better Call Saul co-stars are looking to help rising actors with their craft by putting together a book about acting.

Sony Pictures Television

Although Better Call Saul is over, its lead stars aren’t finished working together. On Monday evening. Bob Odenkirk was among the show’s stars present for the Primetime Emmy Awards. The series picked up a handful of awards at the event, and among them are acting awards for Odenkirk and co-star Rhea Seehorn. Because of the work they had put into the series with their roles as Jimmy McGill and Kim Wexler, every Better Call Saul fan would agree that Odenkirk and Seehorn are deserving of those Emmys.

Speaking with Variety ahead of the ceremony, Odenkirk was asked about what’s coming next. He revealed that he’s working on a new project with Seehorn, as the two are planning to co-author a book about their own unique acting experiences. It will provide an interesting perspective for readers, as each actor had come from very different acting backgrounds, and yet they shined so well together with their on-screen chemistry in Better Call Saul. As Odenkirk explains:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“Rhea and I are talking about a book about acting. She’s a properly trained actress. I did not train, really. I did improv and sketch. And we lived together, when we acted the show, me and Patrick (Fabian) and Rhea. So, a lot of conversation about acting. Hours, and hours, you don’t wanna hear it! But I think there’s some things we could share with young actors about your approach to this work, and they come from two different places. One, a well-trained actor, and one, an untrained actor.”

Even with a book in the works, the stars of Better Call Saul are still going to be acting. Odenkirk will stick around on AMC after landing a starring role in the upcoming dramedy Straight Man. In the series, Odenkirk plays a man suffering a mid-life crisis who becomes the unlikely interim chairman of the English department at a Pennsylvania college. He has also teased a sequel to the action movie Nobody and has said that he’s been keeping his training going just in case the call comes in for that movie to happen.

Seehorn also co-created the new AMC+ series Cooper’s Bar in which she’s also featured as a star. The series has earned Seehorn an additional Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy. Along with her nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for Better Call Saul, these are the first two nominations ever given to Seehorn at the Emmys. Many fans have also called for Seehorn to return as Kim Wexler in a Better Call Saul spinoff series or El Camino-style movie, but time will tell if that ever happens.
