Adrienne King says she’s excited to return to the Friday the 13th franchise, confirming her role in Crystal Lake.

It has been revealed that the Friday the 13th television series in the works at Peacock will include at least one big star from the franchise. Adrienne King, the original final girl of the series who survived the first Friday the 13th in her role as Alice Hardy, has been cast as a recurring character in the new show, dubbed Crystal Lake. Details on her role haven’t been revealed, though King confirmed her involvement by sharing her excitement over the casting on Facebook.

Posting an image of herself out on the lake wearing a yellow raincoat reminiscent of her character’s from Friday the 13th, King wrote, “I’m so excited to be going back to CRYSTAL LAKE! There’s so much I wish I could share with you regarding the new series but you’ll just have to be patient. So worth the wait!”

Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) is developing the series for Peacock, and it’s been revealed that Scream writer Kevin Williamson is also on board to write an episode. The series was also pitched as a four-season show, so while only the first season has been ordered at this time, the hope is to have Jason’s resurrection at Peacock span a few years. He also teased how Pamela Voorhees, the original killer in the series played by Betsy Palmer opposite King in the first film, will be playing a big part of Crystal Lake alongside her son.

“We’re honestly going to be covering it all. The series is covering the life and times of these two characters,” Fuller has said of the show.

Will Adrienne King Again Fall Victim to Jason?

Paramount Pictures

One question fans have is who King may be playing in the series. It’s not entirely clear if and how Crystal Lake will connect to any of the previous movies in the series, but it’s possible that King could be returning as Alice Hardy. While Alice is killed off in the second movie by Jason Voorhees, Crystal Lake could still bring back the character by only acknowledging the original film, as Blumhouse’s Halloween trilogy did just recently with Jamie Lee Curtis. Another fun twist would be if King actually gets to play Mrs. Voorhees, her foe from the original, this time around.

In any case, King’s involvement is already getting fans of the franchise excited to see what Fuller has in store for the resurrection of the franchise. A release date hasn’t yet been set for the show, but let’s hope more updates are coming soon.
